Post by schoollover »

Hi I have aa quick question and I anm not trying to start a dvd vs bluray thread but cana bluray player work if you have a 36 inch tv and you don't have hdtv from cable can you still have a bluray player and have it look atleast okay. And can you please not say like 1081 cause I won't know what youre talking about. Please and Thank you. also does a 44 inch work under the same conditions. Sorry to keep asking so many questions but can you find one under 100 dollars.

Yeah. Blu-ray players are completely backwards-compatible with older videon technologies. You don't need an HD Cable box, and you don't even need an HDTV to enjoy your movies and future-proof your collection. All the players come with the (crappy) SD Red/White/Yellow-tipped composite cable, and it's backwards compatibnle with all DVDs.

And 1080p is just the number of pixels in the image followed by the letter representing the method with which they're encoded onto the disc. Higher number of pixels=clearer picture. No rocket science is.

I've seen a Magnavox player at Wal-Mart for about $130. So far that's the cheapest player I've found. If you can wait a couple months you might be able to pick one up cheaper around the holidays.
