Beauty And The Beast: Diamond Edition Discussion Oct. 5th!
I know it was! lolBelleGirl wrote:It's nice for those not in posession of a B&tB dvd/blu ray that a new platinum edition is upcoming.
I have a very good "Deluxe edition" however and I don't feel the need to double-dip.
I never finished the "Break the spell" game by the way. That was so difficult!
But I did not stop until I won, and I did!
BBFC Classified a Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition Trailer in August. I dont think it has been posted yet. Is it possible that BatB will be before Fantasia?

EDIT: I dont know why, but the link always comes up with URL at the end, so just take it off after you click the link.

yep me too. i think that they are seeing the demand for it is high and my guess is that fantasia needs more work...Cordy_Biddle wrote:I get the feeling that Disney really is more interested with getting "Beauty and the Beast" out as quickly as possible, and I do heavily suspect that it will be here before "Fantasia".

I posted it. Anyway, its not actually the trailer. Its just information about the trailer that the British Film Board passed. If you want to see that, just take off the url at the end of the link.Just.A.Friend wrote:Yes, this is a definite Diamond Edition confirmed by Disney...Want2beBelle wrote:Does anyone have info, if this will be a Diamond Edition? Agreed. I could do without the IMAX version too. All I want is the movie on Blu-ray.Matt wrote:true too lol. Wow, this is the first time I'm seeing this. I know its old news and we already have a forum dedicated to color discussion but why are they still using the VHS as reference. The IMAX trailer looks better to me as its not nearly as dark or faded but the colors seem accurate.Beast_enchantment wrote:IMAX trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXFrI8pHP5E
I think they'll keep the release schedule the same. BatB being released in Fall gives them enough leeway that they can promote the release as 20th Anniversary and it would also give them the option to include the 3D version. That and I'm more excited at the possibility of Fantasia finally getting the proper treatment (fully restored, unedited, 7.1 surround), so I really hope I don't have to wait any longer for that.

If they did put a 3D version on the disc, it would need to be red and blue. At the D23 Expo, they had representatives from Panasonic there displaying The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D using new TV technology. They said that the way HD TVs are now, they can't reveal the same type of 3D that you see in theaters. He also said that Blu-Ray isn't capable of doing it, so it would require new TVs and new players just for 3D films.jpanimation wrote:I think they'll keep the release schedule the same. Disney seems to think otherwise:goofystitch wrote:If they did put a 3D version on the disc, it would need to be red and blue. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment intends to release its first "theatrical-styled" 3-D Blu-ray Disc releases as early as fourth quarter 2010, to prime people for the expected launch of 3-D-at-home hardware. The studio demoed 3-D clips of its movies at a fan conference held last week in Anaheim, California.

They're claiming that they'll have Blu-rays with the real 3D on them by the end of the year (same time Beauty and the Beast is supposed to come out).
Also, to quote myself from the other BatB thread:
Basically, Sony and Panasonic are just playing catch up. Its true that a majority of the HDTVs and players currently won't be able to handle 3D but that didn't stop Disney from claiming they're ready to start future proofing their Blu-rays (that is, if the future is 3D). As far as players not being capable, Sony has already confirmed that the PS3 will receive a firmware update, making it 3D capable, and I'm hoping Panasonic will follow suit.jpanimation wrote:Samsung and Mitsubishi's HD DLP rear projector TVs have been 3D-Ready for years now. Here's a list of the TVs they've maufactured that are 3D-Ready:

This is the same active shutter technology that Sony and Panasonic have been advertising for Blu-ray use so if you bought one of those, you should be all set.
Here's a link to DLP's site, confirming the 3D-Ready technology as active shutter:

I still have my doubts though that this will be released in 3D on Blu (we have a better chance of Bolt or UP getting re-releases than this movie).
