Re: HERBIE THE LOVE BUG COLLECTION DVD Press Release
There is that truth in Disney advertising again!Luke wrote:Together For The First Time On DVD!
Conveniently ignoring the fact there is a box set in at least two other regions (2 & 4).
At any rate, each box has the relative advantages/disadvantages. The forthcoming US R1 box will have the 2-disc version of the Love Bug (we got a single, but still had MOST of the meaty supplements). On the flip side, 'Bananas' was the only one NOT in the OAR here...
Love that Disney consistency!
I was hoping that 'Bananas' would come in the OAR in the US so I could add to my collection here.
I guess this means that the likelihood of 'Darby O' Gill' being in OAR is in danger (being fullscreen here).

I don't understand why Disney dosen't release everything the same way everywhere. If they already cleaned and transfered widescreen versions for one DVD release, wouldn't it be easier to release the exact same thing elsewhere? Dosen't it create more work for them to make the film pan & scan than to leave it as is? I don't understand them anymore.

Generally, if a DVD is fullscreen, they're using a fullscreen video master they already have to make the DVDs. On a new movie, it would be more work to do a 1.33:1 reformat.goofystitch wrote:I don't understand why Disney dosen't release everything the same way everywhere. I also own the 2-disc special edition and I live in the U.S. If you don't own it and you want all of the "Love Bug" films on DVD, than wait for the box set.

Never seen any of these either. I realize that I need to, and I will soon. I think David Tomlinson is in at least one, which makes me want to see them that much more.

I really like The Love Bug but, the second one was cheaper.
I'm going to get The Love Bug for sure.
