It's funny that the three most frequent posters in the Mariah thread are also the three most frequent posters in the Whitney thread, LOL!!!
Anyway, I am soo excited for this CD (as is usual in the case of a new MC album!) Looking forward to seeing more growth as per E=MC2 (For the Record) as well as some retro ballads like IWTKWLI! Exciting time in music in my view!

I can't wait for this! I just really want the album to leak so I can give it a listen, just to hold me over until the 29th! "H.A.T.E.U." and "Ribbon" are my favorites so far. BRING ON SEPTEMBER 29th!! (and whenever the album leaks!)

New Photos: Mariah Recreates Butterfly Era
Below are brand-new gorgeous photos of Mariah, taken from a promotional photoshoot for the new album. In the pictures, Mariah seems to recreate the iconic 1997 Butterfly album photoshoot.

Last month, a picture of Mariah was released in which she recreated her 1990 self titled debut / "Vision of Love" photoshoot.

For someone who is pushing into their 40s, she looks incredible! Hasn't aged a bit, she's still gorgeous as always!
She may be showing a little too much teeth
but still looks great nevertheless.

MARIAH CAREY IS A VISION IN VEGAS
Mariah Carey descended onto the stage in a white gown on Friday (Sept. 11) for the first of four special engagements she has scheduled at The Pearl Theater at the Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Mimi took fans back with a hairstyle reminiscent of her ’90s “Vision of Love” days. She performed mostly new material, but reached into her catalog for a few crowd pleasers.

Oh nah, I don't both trying to sneak cameras into concerts anymore, especially Mariah ones.... LOL Because they are usually strict on cameras, especially in Vegas. I was also suppose to go backstage...Nick Bryant wrote:Poody wrote: Oh wow! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Poody! Did you take lots of photos?

Oh don't you worry, I will definitely be buying it.
This leak makes me want September 29th to come sooner! So many great releases are that day and it's gonna be amazing! I hate how the booklet is going to be a mini-magazine. According to Wiki only the first million copies pressed will be formatted like that. After that, it will be a standard booklet.

Even though you don't like the magazine concept at least it's different and it's never been done before. Also it's "slightly" rarer than the standard version if there are only going to be a select amount being made.

Yeah, I'll buy it the day it comes out and then in a few months (likely after the Holidays) hopefully they will have started to press copies of the album without the ads. I'm curious to see if they will do this with other artists' albums.
So what do you guys think so far? I've listened to the album in whole about twice, and I think it's safe to say that I really hope this album grows on me. I'm just not into it as much as I hoped. "Betcha Gon' Know" is an ok track, but it's simply an intro, so people shouldn't be looking for too much depth. "Obsessed" is an always-skip for me, I've just heard it way too many times. My favorite track is "H.A.T.E.U.", as I predicted. I listened to it about 7 times today and am still not tired of it. "Candy Bling"'s alright, and "Ribbon" is my second favorite song off the album. "Inseperable" sounds eerily like "Shake It Off", but I like it. "Standing O" is really good and catchy. "It's A Wrap" is decent, but nothing too special. "Up Out My Face / Up Out My Face (The Reprise)" are welcomed additions, and are catchy as well. "More Than Just Friends" takes the album to a more Hip-Hopish area, with a funky beat. I like it. "The Impossible / The Impossible (The Reprise)" bring the album back down to a more mellow side while still managing to keep things funky. "Angels Cry" would probably do well as a single - I like it. "Languishing" is real great and mellow, I really think it should have been made into a full song. "I Want To Know What Love Is" is...well, we've all heard it!
I'm also debating on whether or not I want to pick up the 3-CD box set that goes along with Memoirs. It contains Charmbracelet, The Emancipation of Mimi: Platinum Edition, and E=MC2. It also contains an exclusive Mariah poster and a slot for a fourth CD (it says that the spot is for Memoirs). I have Charmbracelet, but I could trade in my copy I have now because I sorta need the cash. I have both the Standard edition and the Limited editions of the 14-track version of The Emancipation of Mimi, and don't really want the Platinum Edition, because I've been trying to hunt down a copy of the Ultra Platinum Edition, which includes a bonus DVD. I also have the deluxe and standard editions of E=MC2. It's $25, but it looks like it's a good box, plus if I got rid of Charmbracelet, I would be essentially paying $25 for that album along with an edition of TEOM that I don't have, plus a poster. Down the road, I can trade in an edition of E=MC2 and the Platinum Edition of TEOM and use TEOM's empty spot for the Ultra Platinum Edition and have a killer box set with 6 discs in all. Such a tough decision!
