I Got Accepted Into The College Program!!! Spring 2010

Post by Disney Villain »

For years Aurora and Cindy have been telling me that dreams come true, but now I see what they mean. After weeks of grueling anticipation I finally received my Acceptance letter! I officially part of the Walt Disney World Resort College Program Spring Advantage. Which means I'll be in Orlando, at WDW, from January through August!

You have no idea how ecstatic I've been all day! It's going to be sad leaving home and my friends, but I think it will be worth it in more ways than I could imagine. The role I've received is Merchandise. I also have an entertainment audition in November. I still have the option not to go to the audition. Although I'd love to be a character, I really don't know. I'm very conflicted, lol. It's always been a dream of mine to be a character, but I'm totally fine doing merchandise, lol.

Congratulations! So what you will be doing is working at the parks? What are some of the benefits of the program?

Congrats, Disney Villain!! I hope you have lots of fun on your program. I've never had the chance to do it since my academic schedule could not afford to miss a whole semester, but hearing from my brother and sister who did it, you really get the chance to grow as a person through the program. I think that's true with any internship, but most especially with Disney. Good luck with the program and I can't wait to hear about your experiences once you're there, in the midst of all things Disney! =)

Thank you everyone! I'm planning on creating a blog and new YouTube channel for my experiences while down there, to keep my friends and family in the know. So I will def keep you guys posted, lol.

Thank you! I was accepted into merchandise, so I'll be working in an air conditioned store (most of the time), lol. I'm also signed up for an entertainment/character audition in November. I'm looking forward to that. If I pass the character audition, then I have to give up merchandise, but if I fail the character audition I still get merchandise. So it's a win-win situation. I'm going to audition, because I don't have anything to loose. I would LOVE to be a character, and maybe be in a parade, lol- but I'd be more than happy doing merchandise.

I'm really not sure of all the perks. Besides being a cast member and getting to hang out with Cinderella and Aurora all day, I think I get free park tickets for friends and family. I'm going to look into the perks, and I'll get back to you, lol. Thank you again!

As always Phillip, Thank you!!! I'm in merchandise now, but I'm going for a character audition, in Rochester NY, in November. Hopefully I get to be a prince or something, lol. I will keep you guys in the know!

Nice! I don't post here very often but I continue to read and it's really cool that you got accepted for Merchandise. That's what I did when I got accepted and besides some rooming issues and managers who didn't quite fit what I would expect from leaders at Disney, I did enjoy it and now that I'm pushing my mid 20s and know what it means to work hard, I'd do it all over again cause it was all totally worth it.

So congrats! And where upstate are you? I'm in Orange County.

Congratulations, Disney Villian!!!! I am a DCP alumni and am a Campus Rep for the program, so congratulations on being accepted. Not everyone makes it that far. I just applied for some professional internships for January, so hopefully I'll see you down there.
