actually Race To Witch Mountain and Hannah Montana The Movie had the same deal as well. So I have them on Blu-ray plus DVD lol. I also need a blu-ray player. My brother has a PS3 but it doesn't even look nice on it because we need an HD TV lol.Barbossa wrote:Yup, I'm going to pick-up the Blu-Ray. It's only $3 more than the DVD at Future Shop!Matt wrote:
The making of feature is on the DVD. Basically you are getting the DVD sold separately with a Blu-ray Disc lol.
Blu-Ray: $26.99 - $10 (coupon) = $16.99
DVD: $23.99 - $5 (coupon) = $18.99
Wow, first time I encountered where the Blu is cheaper than the DVD.![]()
But until I can afford the right equipment, the Blu discs will serve as nice coasters.
And I almost forgot, you get 25 more DMR points than the DVD!

I didn't get the Witch Mountain Blu because even with the coupon, the DVD was still cheaper, so I got the single disc DVD as I didn't think it was worth it to pay the extra money just for deleted scenes (the Witch Mountain DVD was actually a let down - they could've added more behind the scenes stuff on there and maybe a retrospective featurette with the original actors, including Meredith Salenger who played reporter Natalie Gann

And yes I picked up earth on Blu today. And for those that are wondering, The DVD does have the featurette that's included in the regular DVD release. I wish the people at Disney would make note of that on the cover as it just says "Disc 2: DVD of the Film" should've stated that the DVD includes making-of featurette. Definitely a better deal to get the Blu.

Actually the "High School Musical 3" and "Race to Witch Mountain" DVD/Blu Ray combo packs are lacking. There are 2-disc DVD sets available for both films, and if you get the DVD/Blu Ray combo you miss out on the second DVD (which doesn't mean much if you have a blu ray player....but means that you are totally missing out on disc 2 if you don't have a blu ray player). I'll wait and get the next combo pack so long as I don't miss out on any DVD bonus features with the purchase.Matt wrote:actually Race To Witch Mountain and Hannah Montana The Movie had the same deal as well. IIRC, the second disc is just the Digital Copy disc, as all of the special features are on the DVD (whereas the single-disc DVD for those films don't contain all the special features).disneyfella wrote:Actually the "High School Musical 3" and "Race to Witch Mountain" DVD/Blu Ray combo packs are lacking. So getting the DVD/BD combo is better, as the combo pack contains the deluxe DVD with all the special features.

I am a BJ's Wholesale Club member and I just found out that they have a $7 instant rebate and they take manufacturer's coupons so you can use the $10 coupon. So it ends up 9.99 plus tax, call your BJ's to see when the instant rebate expires and if they have it!
Edit: Yes, for the Blu-ray

Right after I posted, I double checked the UltimateDisney DVD reviews and realized this same point. So I suppose I will be getting the "High School Musical 3", "Hannah Montana the Movie", and "Race to Witch Mountian" Blu Ray DVD combo packs. For a DVD collector who has not yet switched to Blu Ray, this seems to be a smart investment because the notion is that one will EVENTUALLY be converting to Blu.Escapay wrote:IIRC, the second disc is just the Digital Copy disc, as all of the special features are on the DVD (whereas the single-disc DVD for those films don't contain all the special features).disneyfella wrote: Actually the "High School Musical 3" and "Race to Witch Mountain" DVD/Blu Ray combo packs are lacking.
