This seriously isn't fair! :(
Don't the BD and DVD Combos have exactly the same things? Only different packaging... Both have 2 BD discs and 1 DVD.
But why do they have two different packaging anyway?

I think that some people who currently only buy DVDs would feel more comfortable and more likely to buy the Blu-ray/DVD combo in a DVD package, to match all their other DVDs.

Well, I'm pretty sure the ones expecting to get only the DVD will be disappointed when they realize both packs come with only one DVD and two BD discs and have to wait a month to get the DVD only package.

I agree. Some people might a) not even know that the Blu-ray is included and might think that it's the 2-disc DVD, or b) Know that the Blu-ray is included, but think that they're still getting the 2-disc DVD. Yes, if one pays attention to the marketing, they'd know that the DVD-only release is 7-weeks later, but a) the average DVD buyer isn't following Disney's every move, and b) I don't recall Disney mentioning the DVD at all in their Blu-ray marketing of Snow White.

About b), I wonder if anyone is going to pick it up thinking that's the only way it's coming out. On the Snow White website there's no mention of the 2-Disc DVD even existing. The best option for a version in the DVD case would have been the 2-Disc DVD plus a Blu-ray copy of the film. That should have been an option from the day Disney decided to release bundles. (I know I said that before but it doesn't make any sense for them not to do that as one of the options especially with one of the Snow White options having a DVD case as the only difference. That would have been the perfect time to do that.)

This is why I don't like Disney's marketing. They are marketing the October release of Snow White as the only one that's happening. People are going to think that's the only release it's getting and that's not right.

I 100% agree with you. For the people (the general public) who know about the Blu-ray release but not the DVD release:
Do you think that it could hurt sales? Some people may pass on the release all-together if they think they can't just get the DVD separately. It's true, though, that in October, Disney might start advertising for the DVD version...maybe. It'll be interesting to see how Disney goes about marketing (or not marketing) the DVD.

I think that the cover is simply a Lenticular 3D cover and that the Witch/Snow White images morph into one another!

I hope that the CD soundtrack is newly remastered after all the hard work of the DVD/Blu Ray sound engineers!

If anyone is having any problems finding the $10 coupon all you have to do is type the 2001 dvd UPC in just as if you were entering a DMR code. It will give you a banner to click on and print out.

I'm just having a hard time printing the darn thing. I've tried installing the coupon printer dozens of times, but my spyware won't seem to let me (even though I tell it that it's safe). I guess I'll have to try again later.

Hm. I might get the steelbook. I'm not crazy about the Blu cover with the Witch in the middle.

Just printed out my coupon too! :D

I absolutely LOVE the steelbook! My only hope is that Best Buy continues to do this with more Diamond Editions. It would really set them apart as a collection, and I'm pretty sure that I would only buy from them exclusively for it. I was having a very hard time picking out which release I wanted to pick up, but this might've settled it for me.

The only thing the different packaging does is differentiate the DVD Combo from the Blu-Ray Combo. Even though they contain exactly the same thing.. I think Disney is trying to tell the buyers that the Combos are different (with the different covers, and different case sizes), even though they really aren't.

Another thing Disney may be doing is trying to set up enough of a difference to give die-hard collectors the invitation to buy both the DVD and Blu Combos... which is what I am planning on doing.

Or, as Deco King said, the Witch in the center may transform into Snow White with a holographic type cover, which I find hard to believe... since for one thing it makes no sense whatsoever (Snow White transforming into the Witch!?) and also because at the bottom of the cover, there is already either Snow White or the Witch depending on the combo. Why have two of the same pictures above and below each other?

Is this SteelBook case at Best Buy something that you actually store the disc in? If so what would you do with the Blu-ray and Dvd case that holds the 3 Disc (2 being Blu-ray and one being Dvd)?

I have my $10 coupon printed out. When I go to Best Buy to pre-order Snow White and get the free SteelBook case I will see if they accept the coupon (I am not sure if they will since this is a pre-order).

Another thing I want to know is at my local Disney store when I pre-order Snow White the picture for the 2 Disc Blu-ray and 1 Disc Dvd is a picture of the Dvd case. But I believe someone else on this thread or another thread who works at a Disney store (most likely not the same as my local Disney store) said something about how the Disney Store has the Blu-ray case for the 2 Disc Blu-ray and 1 Disc Dvd?

Yes as the cover is tilted they'll swap places as it were !!
