Funny you should mention that...

When some of my friends became dead set on dating they started to believe that girls were only attracted to jerks, that nice guys were a huge turn off for them. But my best friend's girlfriend stated once that girls don't like jerks. What they want is a CONFIDENT man, someone that is sure of himself and the woman he loves.

Arrogance is not confidence. In fact, its an assurance that you lack confidence and hide that fact through delusions of grandeur.

I'm not interesting in dating anyone right now, but if I do fall in love with the right girl I hope to have enough confidence.

I know you never said that as such but Plinky was being pretty arrogant and when I said he had an ego you commented that you loved that in a man! To me ego = arrogant! You'll never come across a man with an ego without being arrogant
