Disney fans will know him best as Blackbeard's Ghost and the voice of Prince John from "Robin Hood."

Don't forget the wonderfully British "One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing". One of Disney's great films filmed in Britain.

Peter Ustinov was best known as a speaker in his later years, and his turns on chat shows were always funny and entertaining. He will be missed.

I didn't even know he was still alive (don't ask me why). Really sucks to find out he's dead. I remember him most as King Herod in Jesus of Nazareth in which he gave a great performance. R.I.P., Pete.

Oh, I loved "Blackbeard's Ghost." I used to have it on a (now worn or missing) VHS tape. The track and field bits, the poker game ... that was a hilarious film. Underrated, I think. lol. And he was excellent as King John in "Robin Hood," also.

For some reason, I thought he had already passed. Probably got him mixed up with another.

And don´t forget his role as Dr. Ewing T. Snodgrass in Disney´s Treasure of Matecumbe - a film I like better than One of Our DInosaurs is Missing!

He had a cameo in the second greatest Muppet movie of all time... The Great Muppet Caper.

Although he was great in Blackbeard's Ghost & his voice work in Robin Hood I'll always think of him as the Agatha Christie #1 sleuth the Belgian who used his "little grey cells" Hercule Poirot. He made a number of them and also won Oscars for Spartacus & Topkapi. We'll miss you Hercule. RIP Peter.

Treasure of Matecumbe is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time and it's so underrated it's sad!

I wish Disney would release this on DVD, but it'd probably end up with some horrid fullscreen transfer. Maybe it's locked up in the vault like Song of the South because they had African American characters....

I've just ordered the UK "One of Our Dinosaurs..." disc, even though I like to make fun of it.

Here's a selection of web tributes from the public sent to the BBC website.

I love this film! Why is everyone so mean to it? I think it's funny, I love all the British jokes! 2099, is the disc by Disney or Anchor Bay, and is it in widescreen or fullscreen?

I've read that they can't get the ground to stop churning where he is laid to rest. Turns out he has been rolling in his grave over the Disney treatment of Blackbeard's Ghost's dvd.

We don't know until it's released. You don't expect Disney UK to have released a press release do you?

I will report on the disc to Luke, and I'm sure he will add it to the international dvds page once I give him the details

Luckilly they will release this in widescreen in Australia and probably Europe to soon since the Australian edition will include scandinavian captions.
