The Princess and the Frog
Smaller, Mama Odie looks less scary, I hope they changed her pointy skeletalness.
But Naveen should be his Prince self on the card! Everyone else is in their original forms...and it's like his photo opportunity!

Re: The Princess and the Frog
Anyone think Mama Odie looks like a snake facial wise? Kinda like Kaa from The Jungle Book.Disney Duster wrote:Smaller, Mama Odie looks less scary, I hope they changed her pointy skeletalness.

And like with BatB, Naveen will probably be marketed in his frog form more than his human form

The Princess and the Frog
Yay thanks pap!
Hm Princess Forever, but the thing is we actually see a lot of Naveen in his Prince form before he transforms. We see his story. His Prince form is very much throughout the film, unlike Prince Adam, the Prince form of the Beast.
So if you are right, they show his frog form more...that's just lame.

Duster pretty much said what I was going to say about Naveen. Not to mention he already has some merchandise of him in both his human and frog forms, meaning that Disney has not excuse as to which form to market.
I mean we see mermaid Ariel and Human Ariel adorn most of the Princess Merchandise so why not have both Froggy and Princess Tiana be featured?

There's a new clip on youtube that features Tiana and Charlotte as children as well as Tiana'a mother and Charlotte's father http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOJqI29rlmI

That's a great clip! Nice to have the voices, now it makes sense on what's going on. So that's how the girls meet and become friends. Her mom being the seamstress for the family. Making any princess dress she asks for. As always John Goodman is wonderfully cast. I love that man, he has such a great voice and presence, both for animation and live action. He really makes the character.bluemoon86 wrote:There's a new clip on youtube that features Tiana and Charlotte as children as well as Tiana'a mother and Charlotte's father http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOJqI29rlmI

Was anyone else expecting "Big Daddy" Labeouf to start yodelling at some point during that clip?
or am I the only thinking he resembled Alameda Slim?
Seriously though, the animation looks exactly like all the other recent handdrawn films before they got shut down. The flair, fluidity and comic timing remind me of the animation from Tarzan, New Groove, Atlantis and Home on the Range.
Definitely looks like they managed to hire back the best of what was sadly let go in 2003. It'll be interesting to see what Pooh looks like when animated by this crew.

They technically can't ban the film. They can ban it from their own churches and homes, but I think you mean boycott...which means they won't see the movie or buy the merchandise. To ban it nationwide, would be opening up a can of worms with the first amendment.amazon980 wrote:I dont think those Tarot Cards are gana fly with all the christian/catholic groups most likely gana be against it. Let them boycott it. They are gonna do it anyways. Controversy sells.
Besides, I have real tarot cards and those are not tarot cards. If that is the official name for them, its just a marketing ploy. They are nothing more than game cards.

He borrows the "big barrel chest" design from both Alameda and Governor Ratcliffe from Pocahontas. Its a common caricature design for big men who are more chest than big bellies.PatrickvD wrote:Was anyone else expecting "Big Daddy" Labeouf to start yodelling at some point during that clip?

Well, I think this was expected the moment Oprah was hired for the role. It wouldn't be right if one of the most well-known African Americans today (as well as probably in history long after she's gone, I would think) weren't in The Princess and the Frog, which is mostly being tagged as the first African American Disney (Princess) movie. Not to mention it was just a good decision to use her as an outlet for advertising the movie, considering so many mothers with children probably watch her show.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"
