I second the motion.

I have a feeling that they will since they restored Pinocchio's RKO opening for the Blu-Ray.

And if you’re balking at paying top dollar for the new Blu-ray version of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” you might want to keep an eye on these four domain names:

SNOWWHITELOWPRICE.COM
SNOWWHITESAVE10.COM
SNOWWHITECOUPON.COM
SNOWWHITEOFFER.COM

Which suggest that Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is readying an extensive rebate program for this new DVD release.

These screenshots come from the Blu-ray trailer for Snow White. Probably these reflect but not fully represent the quality of the release itself. These seem unsharp to me. But I have no complaints about the colours.

[sarcasm]Oh my god, look at those colours! They're so hideous! Disney must be using Microsoft Paint to "restore" these beyond their original brilliance! How dare they?!? I'm boycotting this release until they get it right and make it look as old and faded as my VHS and laserdiscs were, but with the sharpness and clarity of high definition! And just look at the lines! Some are so sharp you could split a hair with them, while others are now just...just gone! You're getting rid of the original artists' work! And don't get me started on how it now looks like a Saturday morning cartoon! Just look at the queen's crown or the bags of diamonds! And there's an ugly garishness in the colours, even if to the naked eye they look muted and subdued! This is not what it looked like in 1937! I have old books and newspaper clippings and faded tapes to prove it! What do the "restoration" people have? A bunch of old animation cels, reels of the original negatives and film prints, various colour tests and other high quality methods that I can only dream of. AND THEY STILL GET IT WRONG!!!. AAGGHHH! COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN!!![/sarcasm]

It's always seemed to me that the full quality of the films in high def have never shown through in the trailer. I've felt that way since I saw the Sleeping Beauty trailer on Blu-ray, and it ended up looking amazing! Snow White will probably be the same.

That's because both the Sleeping Beauty and Snow White trailers were edited from the previous restorations. There probably wasn't enough material from the new restoration to cull together into a trailer. So these screencaps are essentially the 2001 DVD upscaled. I'm sure the 2009 one will show a more noticeable difference.

Also, objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

I posted this almost a year ago on another thread and I believe it's still relevant:
Flanger-Hanger wrote:WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I don't like how the new release doesn't look like my 20 year old VHS!

WAAAAAAAAAA!!!! I like throwing around catch phrases like "flat" [to criticize a 2-D animated movie to begin with], and "lifeless" [whatever the hell that's supposed to mean] because it makes me sound like an expert and band wagon's are fun to jump on!

WAAAAAAA!!! I can't be bothered viewing these restorations on an actual HD set so I'll just complain looking at compressed screencaps on a standard definition monitor!

WAAAAAAAAA!!!!! I obviously don't have any experience in the field of film restoration but I know better than anyone else, just cause!

WAAAAAAAA!!! I'm too busy complaining about expensive, time consuming restorations to notice that Disney has still not put out anamorphic releases for movies (Rocketeer) or just used old video masters on new releases (any number of older catalogue titles)!

WAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! I want to see more picture but I don't like how wide this release is!

WAAAAAAAAA!!!! Why Don't I have this release, which I so obviously hate, right now!

[the list goes on but I'm afraid all major metropolitan area wambulences are in full service right now]
Got a Burnsie icon from Scaps! Not that his recent post here is undeserving of one:

When I first saw the Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs Blu Ray trailer on Pinocchio I was entranced with the quality and sharpness , and yet I'm told that the Snow White scenes on the Blu Ray Trailer are NOT taken from the HD elements but from the previous remastering job for the 2001 Platinum Edition!!!

If this is the case when the Blu Ray does arrive the new transfer is bound to look stupendous , although people on here will , no doubt , go on about colour balance being "off" or whatever!!

so true! Although I think I'd like it better if the background were black and the apple looking more hand drawn. It looks very cgi. I love the overall idea though!!!!

the lil smoke comin from the apple isn't a bad touch either, I like the blue background, sets it apart from the trailer's black background. and the gold letterin's a nice touch too just wish they kept the film's promo logo the same though.
