what scenes do you FF through?
Are there any scenes in Disney movies that you tend to fast forward through every time? I won't do this if I haven't watched the movie in awhile, but if I'm watching a few times in a month, I tend to skip certain scenes, like:
*Snow White--the Dwarves' mine scene and washing scene; I dunno, I just don't care for those songs
*Cinderella--the mice trying to get the key up to Cinderella, just because it makes me a lil nervous and upset *lol*
*Sleeping Beauty--the talk between the 2 kings
*The Little Mermaid--most of the beginning where Ariel and Flounder are treasure hunting
*Beauty and the Beast--Belle and her father's confinement and escape from their basement

The first thing I thought of when I read the thread title was "what movies do I final fantasy what?! O_O"
I don't really fast forward through films anymore (I just use the chapter skip button after all) but when it comes to disney movies I need to watch it til I fall asleep. I think I'll start jumping straight to the adult Tarzan half of Tarzan because I really can't stand the childhood/growing up scenes. Terk is SO annoying!

I Fast forward through scenes a lot.
Beauty and the beast- 'Be our guest': not my interest. I find it a waste.
Cinderella- any mice focus scene like collect the corn kernel, getting the damn bead necklace, that clothes making song, etc: too much focus on side characters and shit.
Sleeping beauty- any 3 faries main focus scene. i hate them, nuff said.
oh and commercials and openings from walt era days.
that about as much as i remember i fast forward through.

Wow, i think you skip through some of my favourite scenes! Be Our Guest? Really? I think it's a great song that gives the movie a showstopper to add to it's "broadway musical" feel.Super Aurora wrote:I Fast forward through scenes a lot.

And the fairies are my favourite characters ever. 'nuff said.
As for parts I fast forward through, i have been guilty of skipping bits of older movies, such as the Kings' scene in sleeping beauty and parts of the forest Briar Rose/Prince Philip meeting scene.
In general i don't fast forward movies much though, I more often rewind favourite songs and scenes and view again, but i'm just weird that way

Well, when I watch the films I don't fast forward. But usually I just skip right to my favorite scenes when I feel the urge to see them. But thinking about when I was younger, I remember fastforwarding through nearly every scene with Aurora or Phillip in Sleeping Beauty (I loved the fairies, by the way, though they did dominate the movie too much, just as the mice and dwarves did in its predecessors). But I can't really think of any other movie where I did that.
Most of the time, if I didn't like most of it, I just didn't watch it at all.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

We watched Newsies in Civics Class in 8th grade and our teacher fast forwarded through every song! I hated the movie then because it was boring without the songs and we had to fill out a worksheet as we watched. Way to totally kill a first movie viewing experience...but watching it now with the songs and without stressing about an assignment makes the film immensely more enjoyable!
I remember when we were kids we'd fast forward through different movies to get to our favorite parts. I remember we'd fast forward to the animated parts of Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
I also recall running away from the Living Room (rather than fast forwarding) when the Pirates Song "Yo Ho Yo Ho" would come on for one of the early Sing-Along-Songs because the life-like pirate animatronics scared the crap out of me.

Lion King - Morning Report
Beauty and the Beast - Human Again
Maybe I don't technically fast forward through these as the DVD player skips them for me. (I always select "theatrical release" when playing theses movies.)
I know there are some Disney films where there are scenes I don't really like watching, but they never become so unbearable that I skip through it.

I remember that! And we had it timed perfectly so that by the time we returned, Professor Owl was introducing "The Silly Song"!
"Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me)" Sing-Along
It was weird when many years later, we would watch it on the Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl DVD, but with a lot more footage and no more Mickey-the-bouncing-ball.

I always felt that way too. As a child, I could never sit through "Mary Poppins". It was so long to me (coming from the child who would sit raptly through all of "Fantasia"). I never actually saw the whole movie until my sophomore year of college.Flanger-Hanger wrote:Not fast forwarding, but I used to stop Mary Poppins dead in her tracks after the Jolly Holiday scene. The rest of the movie IMO was a bore, unlike Bedknobs and Broomsticks which I would watch all the way through.

I totally disagree! The songs are one of the best parts of any Disney classic.Princess Forever wrote:Are there any scenes in Disney movies that you tend to fast forward through every time? into songs and thrust their pelvises? In my Public Speaking class in college, for my A/V project, I made a Newsies slideshow, and used either song snippets or whole songs- I can't remember. Too bad I couldn't show video clips, too (I mean, if I could've encorporated them into my PowerPoint presentation, then that would've been perfect, but these were the days before YouTube!).

private!

I can't recall fast forwarding any movie past parts I don't like, since I generally like all of a Disney movie, but when I was younger, I would rewind "A Whole New World" a lot...or sometimes just fast forward to that scene.

The only scene in a Disney film I ever FF through (or skip) is the "A guy like you" song from Hunchback of Notre Dame.
For the rest I usually FF through most of the trailers, but I don't think that counts.
If I watch The Lion King I choose to play the original thatrical release version.
