Mickey's Trick or Treat Party / Not So Scary Halloween Party

Has anyone been to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party or Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party? I'm just wondering if the party is mostly geared toward young children or if young adults in their 20's would enjoy it too? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks!

If you like Disney and Halloween, you would like MNSSHP.

The Fireworks, parade, atmosphere (the ghost girl outside Haunted Mansion in fact all HM CMs are great), short lines for rides, Trick or treating it's all very much fun especially if you are in costume.

Mickey's Trick Or Treat at California Adventure is basically trick-or-treating, a character calvacade, Halloween decorations and dancing, character photo ops, and several attractions are open. It is fun, but very low key compared to Not So Scary party.

At Disneyland, the Halloween fireworks, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Haunted Mansion Holiday and the Halloween decorations are all there for normal day guests (no seperate ticket required).

Cool. It would be the Disneyland one that I would be going to. What attractions are open? Would you just recommend going for the day instead?

There is no party at Disneyland Park at all. Everything that is offered for Halloween is offered daily for any guest who comes to the park.

The only party offered at the Disneyland Resort is Mickey's Trick-or-treat party at California Adventure. The Not So Scary party is at the Magic Kingdom in Florida.

Sorry about that -- I was unclear in my post. I meant that I would be going to Disneyland - as in the Disneyland Resort - for Halloween, and not Walt Disney World. I should have specified and said California Adventure.

There is more fun to be had with a day at Disneyland, but DCA has a complete different feel during the Halloween party.

Awesome -- thanks for the advice. I think I will go to the Disneyland Park instead. What convinced me was the Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, as Space Mountain is my favorite ride. Also, I don't like that the Trick or Treat Party isn't offered on weekends. Trying to get down to Anaheim from LA on weekday in rush hour traffic doesn't appeal to me as much!

We went in 1997; as British people who don't really celebrate Halloween in the way Americans do (aka not having an obsession with collecting candy and seeing little shows), we pretty much used it to go on various rides with little queues.

I don't know what kind of pass you have or your workplace flexibility, but you might try going to the Trick or Treat Party before rush hour on a Friday night and seeing the Disneyland stuff on a Saturday or Sunday. The Ghost Galaxy overlay on Space Mountain and the Haunted Mansion Holiday will be available all day, so you could see them and the Trick or Treat Party on the same day with a hopper option.

Actually, the Halloweentime party at DCA is a hard ticket event, meaning you need to buy a ticket just for it to go. They usually sell out as well. Basically, what this means is that if you had a park hopper, you couldn't go to DCA once the party begins because it is technically closed to day guests.

Good point, goofystitch. Still, rush hour can be avoided if one has the day or the afternoon off of work.

I'm seriously considering going to the Trick or Treat party this year. I don't intend to go back during Halloween season after the upcoming trip, so this may be my last chance. At worst, I'll have a longer day in the park with some enthusiastic parkgoers.
