Best Movies of the Year (So Far)
Almost halfway through the year, 2003 has produced several great (and less than great) movies so far. What are the best of the year in your opinion so far? Currently, my in-order list stands like this.

Out of those ones,I have only seen X2, The Matrix Reloaded, Daredevil & Phone Booth.
The others are yet to be released here.
So out of those 4, I'd have to say X2 hands down. I am a huge comic fan (so Daredevil was a distant 2nd). But I've seen X2 about three times now, and I think I want to see it again before it finishes its theatrical run.
I'm sure Nemo will go up the list once I've seen it.

I've only seen The Recruit, Malibu's Most Wanted, Darkness Falls, and Daredevil this year (I also saw Chicago and Die Another Day this year, but they're from 2002). The Recruit was fun, Malibu was pretty lame (I was supposed to see X2 that day, but was sold out), Falls was mediocre at best, and Daredevil was fantastic, which makes it the obvious winner. I'll be seeing The Hulk this weekend for sure, so let's see if I prefer it to DD.

I too have not seen as many as I wanted to, but everyone I've seen I like, and I can be pretty critcal of movies, sometimes. Let's seether was:
Dare Devil (better than Spiderman, really enjoyed. 7-29 DVD)
Final Destination 2 (Great set of movies! Very original story. 7-22 DVD)
Finding Nemo (very cute, a definate addition to collection when released)
That's really all I can remeber seeing in theatres but in my opinion they were all great movies.

So far the only good movies I have seen this year are X2, Finding Nemo (great job Pixar) and Matrix Reloaded IMAX release. I really don't think Daredevil was all that good mainly because I despise Ben Affleck and the mood of the story reminded me of another comic book made to movie (DC's Batman).
As far as upcoming releases I think are going to be the milestones of the year are Tomb Raider 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean (hands down) followed by Terminator 3 and Brother Bear.

Meega Nala Qweesta!
So far I rank the 2003 movies I've seen like this:
1. Daredevil (****)
2. X-Men United (****)
3. Pirates of the Caribbean (****)
4. The Hulk (****)
5. Terminator 3 (*** 1/2)
6. The Recruit (***)
7. S.W.A.T. (***)
8. Once Upon A Time in Mexico (***)
9. The Jungle Book 2 (** 1/2)
10. The Order (** 1/2)
11. Darkness Falls (**)
12. Malibu's Most Wanted (* 1/2)
I think that The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Brother Bear, Finding Nemo (once I've seen it on DVD), and Peter Pan are going to be my top favorites of the year, though I'm not positive in which order.
