Re: Really really random, but I JUST DROVE FOR THE FIRST TIM
I'm in the process of getting my license finally. I have driven before but I need some more practice still. I find it a bit nerve racking, but that feeling seems to die out the more I do it.zackisthewalrus wrote:![]()

It was so fun! Haha. My grandma lives in a small condo villiage, so we drove in there. I just drove around a block, but a turned twice, which was challenging. Haha.

The 1st time is fun & kind of scary at the same time.
Con'grats.
your 1st drive was with your Nan that is so nice, you will soon be driving her to the shop's etc before you know it.
I remember the 1st time I drove, it was with my big brother in next door's field, with there permission of course.

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

I guess I don't feel so bad now. I'm almost 17 1/2 and I'm just now going to take my temps test tomorrow. I actually think it's better than teens learn how to drive later; there would be less accidents since a 17 year old brain is much more developed than a 15 1/2 year old brain. I've read a tad in the book and hopefully I'll get them tomorrow (and I can legally drive now, not that, you know, I illegally drove or anything like that...).ajmrowland wrote:I'm turning 19 in two weeks, and I still haven't learned how to drive, so don't blame me if I look at you like this.

I am 22 years old will be 23 years in March 2010 and I have no interest in Driving or even owning a car.....hence I don't have a license...besides....I have enough bills to pay on my own without a car repair....I think I will get my permit when I am 27 or 32.....
that is all
Unless you count Mario Kart for the Wii
I really confused my Grandma when I told her I got my first steering wheel....that was priceless

I know this thread isn't about me, but I finally got my temps. It took me long enough, but I got it now, so I'm on my way to driving legally.

I got my driver's license a week before my 19th birthday. It was a present from me to me! LOL. First thing I did when I got my license was go see a movie (my mom dropped me off at the mall but I drove home) then the next day, I drove to the shoe store and then to Wal-Mart. Not the most exciting but it was exciting to me. I LOVED the fact that I could drive to Wal-Mart to get whatever I needed without having to ask someone for a ride. Beware when you do get your license though. If you have siblings you will be hit up for rides. You will also hear "Go to the grocery store!" more often from you parents too.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

Congrats, Zack!
My first time was terrifying. I drove with my dad in a Toyota pickup truck around a back road near my uncle's house. For a while it wasn't too bad. I weaved in and out of streets that were pretty dormant. My main problem was handling turns; I'd always turn into the left hand lane instead of the right. I started getting tense when a cop came up behind me, mainly because I didn't even have a permit, yet, at this point. Eventually the two of us went in separate directions, and I kept driving...only to end up with two massive semi-trucks coming behind me. On top of that, an equally large one was coming towards me on his lane. Needless to say, I freaked. The experience turned me off of driving, and I didn't do it again for nearly two years. I swore to myself I'd never ever like driving and would only learn to do it as a necessitiy since you need a car to go anywhere in South Florida.
Now that I have a license and a car, I love to drive. I no longer have to depend on rides from people, I can go wherever I want at whim, and I'm overall just more comfortable behind the wheel. I'd have to be, anyway: I work at a driver's license office, and part of my job requires me to take people on road tests. The funny thing about that is the guy who gave me my actual driver's license ended up retiring, and his vacancy was what allowed me to apply at the office. So the guy not only gave me my license, but his job, too.
