I am allowed on the studio lot, but I am only allowed to go to the store and the Archives, which are open to all employees of the Walt Disney Company. ;)

i got today from Fedex an D23 Pin delivered, because i became a member on the first day. I was really surprised, didn't know about that so far, but a really nice gesture imo. Pin looks also really good. Thanks a lot Disney :)

I got that too. I'm a pin collector, so it was a really nice touch, but people who have put them on eBay have sold them for as high as $200.

I'm sorry but I don't want to read through all of these pages...

But can members go inside the Disney archives?! And look through whatever they want?!

Also, has there been any Cinderella merchandise, events, or articles? Or animated fantasy film (Cinderella, Snow White, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Enchanted) merchandise, events or articles?

OK, so I can't tell if I got tickets to Disneyland USA.

I filled out the form, and it said something like "registration complete" and it said it would list information below and it didn't. And I didn't get a confirmation email or anything. Then I clicked the link again and it said "sold out." So I'm waiting on an email or something because I'm not sure. It was confusing.

We experienced the same thing. My boyfriend got through and filled out the form and got the confirmation page, but we still haven't gotten a confirmation email and this seems to be the same story with forum members on MiceChat as well.

This was almost as frustrating for me as the tour registration was. This time, I was on at 10:50 clicking refresh nonstop and when the link finally appeared at 11:02, it was sold out. Luckily, my boyfriend go through at 11:01 like you did and was able to fill out the form in time, so I will be going as his guest. My fingers are crossed that it actually processed and that we are actually on the list.

Well it makes me feel better to hear that I'm not the only one that this happened to.

I checked out micechat (WOW - MUCH larger D23 Community) and it seems like no one "got in." So that makes me think we probably did, though I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'm a little surprised that so many people on MiceChat want a refund from their membership. It's D23's first year, of course there's going to be bumps along the road. And you can't really be mad at them for offering free events. I don't always get the concert tickets I want, but that doesn't mean I'm going to boycott Ticketmaster. The membership pretty much pays for itself even without the free events...

Yeah. The members over there who want refunds joined for the wrong reasons. There was never a guarantee that members would get to attend events and that was in the terms and conditions we all agreed to when we signed up. I don't consider them the type of people that D23 was meant for if that is their attitude.

By the way, some members are reporting receiving their confirmation email, so it should arrive in your inbox soon.

Yay! I got in! That confirmation email felt so good!

Now here's the thing. My other D23 friend and I both put each other as guests down just in case one of us couldn't get in. (which looks like what you did, goofystitch, with your boyfriend - sorry I stalked you on micechat ;) But we both ended up getting in. So I emailed them to see if we can change our guest names - I know plenty of people that want to go. I hope we can, otherwise I feel bad wasting 2 tickets.

To cancel, you just have to email them. I'm sure that D23 and the people on the waitlist who get that spot will greatly appreciate it. We were doing the same thing, basically just ensuring that we got tickets. We were supposed to call each other if one of us got them. I got lucky that he called me right as I got to the sold out screen. lol.

Sorry to ignore your post before -- there was a lot of commotion with the whole Disneyland USA thing.
Disney Duster wrote: But can members go inside the Disney archives?! And look through whatever they want?!
No. The reason I got to see the archives was because I went on a tour of the Disney Studios through D23 and one of the things they showed us was the archives. The reason why goofystitch can go into them is because goofystitch is an employee of the Walt Disney Company and apparently they can go whenever they want.

I've only been a member of D23 for about a month and so far I really haven't seen any of the mentioned movies. The magazine generally focus on what coming out and what's new. Although you can purchase a Cinderella "Gus" pin that's exclusive to D23 members. I can only imagine that they might have some of those things in the future. The club is only just over 3 months old.

In regards to Disney Duster's questions about D23 merchendise, for Cinderella, there has so far been a pin of Gus sleeping in the glass slipper and a t-shirt with the same image. For Peter Pan, there has been a Tinker Bell pin and t-shirt. For Pinocchio, there has been a Jiminy Cricket pin and several t-shirts, including this one. In the future, there will also be a pin of Dopey and a t-shirt in the same style as Gus, in addition to this one that is currently available. There will also be an Aladdin one with Abu rubbing the lamp that will say "wish granted."

Also, the charter year membership certificate features a ton of Disney characters, including Snow White, Dopey, Cinderella, Maleficent, Sebastian, Mrs. Pots, Genie, and Tinker Bell.

I was debating which of the pins to get, but now it's settled! Aladdin it will be!

Hopefully it'll be out in time to have Charter Year on it!

There will be 10 pins in the charter year series, which will all be modeled after the 10 promotional posters that were released in March.

Here is a picture of the Abu image taken from a promo button for sale on eBay.

My friend and I are planning our trip to the Disneyland USA event.

We're driving down in the late morning and hanging out at Downtown Disney. Do some shopping, get some lunch, probably at the Rainforest Cafe.

We will probably get in line for check in around 2:30, so we can immediately get in at 3. We've made a list of all the rides we want to go on. There is a parade at 3:30 which looks fun, but since time is a crunching, we'd rather go on the rides.

The MUST rides: (aka "The Mountains")
Space Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Splash Mountain

The IF WE STILL HAVE TIME rides: (in this order)
Indiana Jones
Matterhorn
Buzz Lightyear
Star Tours
Haunted Mansion
Pirates of the Caribbean

The event starts at 6, I'm guessing it will probably be out by 10, maybe earlier. However, I REALLY want to see the new fireworks show - Nighttime Spectacular, which is at 9:25pm. Any speculation on whether the dessert reception will include the firework show? -- because I think that would be awesome.

The park closes at midnight, which gives us a few more hours to get through the "if we still have time rides." There's a fantasmic show at 10:30, but I've seen the show so many times that I would rather go on the rides. And also for some reason, I think the show is much better at WDW than Disneyland (though maybe because at Disneyland you have to sit/stand on the cement ground while at WDW you get actual seats).

So that is the plan so far... and I can't wait!
