"Yes. You read that headline right and it is NOT a lame-ass April Fools joke. Apparently we as fans are about to get a wish fulfilled that we've been waiting for forever.

http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/31130/ ... vd-october

The news broke on horror talk radio show Dead Pit when the boys caught up with Michael Feslher of the extraordinary Red Shirt Pictures who will be working on the film's special features.

"In October Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing Night of the Creeps to DVD in a directors cut special edition, it is coming out officially for the first time ever." says Felsher. "Fred Dekker is already working on it, It's going to be the director's cut with the original ending. We're going to go balls to the wall with the special features on it ... I talked to Sony today its official, we're going ahead and its coming out in October! It's officially In production...and moving forward, its coming!"

Well halle-f#@*%!g-lujah! it's about time! Check out the whole chat with Mike when it airs on April 3rd.

Yet another laserdisc I can retire!

In semi-TOTALLY UNRELATED news...I saw this on FearNet, which is now obsolete for a lot of people, and...

I hated it. :(

So I'm, as usual, kicking Sony up and down for not coming out with special editions for Starman (in Widescreen), Fright Night, and Ghostbusters 2 among others first...

Oh I know it. Don't have to tell me twice. In fact, the only reason I even saw the movie was because of how much attention it gets from horror fans. It's just kind of sad how the film delivered less for me as a fan of horror-comedies than the hype that comes along with it. I honestly saw almost nothing to like about the film.

I blind-bought it on laserdisc (without knowing anything about it from a horror community, etc.,) and I have always enjoyed watching it.

Well not me. I never liked any of the characters, I thought Tom Atkins played it too serious (he was already starting to fall from his prime, for further evidence of this- see: Maniac Cop), I wasn't impressed with the music, the dialogue was too serious, the in-references to other horror directors were groaningly bad, and almost all the worm stuff was just lame. Especially, wasn't the main "heroine" type girl attacked by flying worms at her window (or did she see a zombie jump up)... yet, nothing happened to her?! She was just fine? They cut away and didn't show you what happened to her, but apparently nothing happened.

Specs have been announced!:

http://shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=10807

"Great news arrived in April when it was revealed DVD producer Michael Felsher and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment were preparing a Night of the Creeps special edition. The disc is slated to street on October 20th and AICN scored a breakdown of the 60 minutes of behind-the-scenes featurettes which will be included.

- "Birth of Creeps" featuring Dekker talking about the origins of the project
- "Cast of the Creeps" featuring Jason Lively, Tom Atkins, Steve Marshall and Jill Whitlow

- "Creating The Creeps" featuring interviews with SFX creators David B. Miller and Robert Kurtzman

- A special Tom Atkins centric piece called "Tom Atkins: Man of Action"

- "Escape of the Creeps" a detailed look at the post-production.

- Deleted scenes

- Fred Dekker solo commentary

- Cast commentary featuring Atkins, Whitlow, Marshall and Lively

- The original theatrical ending

- And footage from the Cast and Crew reunion screening at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Sounds "thrilling" to us. Can't wait... Stay tuned for box art"

Hope it also includes the theatrical trailer.

I've been waiting for this movie for so, so long... I have very fond memories of watching this movie. I thought that they were remaking a few years ago when 'Slither' came out, since its the same plot. But the guys who made that claim that they never heard of Night of the Creeps.

Another film I've been waiting for is also finally coming out, Hardware! Yeah!

Now I just need a Max Headroom set and The Green Slime and I think that most of my wish list will be done!

I'm not quite sure how to get to it right now, but if you look on Amazon you might find a page where you can vote for one of 3 different covers for Night of the Creeps. Personally, I didn't really like any of them, but I went with #2. Maybe go to movies, then horror...

I chose #3 cuz' it looks like an official cover. In case anyone wants to vote for their favorite cover, here's the link.:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/r ... e%20creeps

I reccomend you vote for either #1 or #3. #2 looks like a crappy bootleg cover.

#1, easy!

#3 is terrible! It looks like Flatliners.
