"Heroes" hasn't been good since the first season. I stuck with Season Two, even though it was basically "Oh no, something ELSE is going to kill everyone in New York in the future!", then I lost interest entirely as the season went on. It's a shame, because it was a good first season. Then they split up all the characters and added a glut of new ones that were just not very interesting.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"

The folks at NBC are way ahead of us on the Heroes thing, as they have only ordered 13 episodes for this season. Look for them to move the show to different nights trying to find an audience that watches this crap.

Prison Break has already been canceled, thank God!!!

Knight Rider mercifully has been done away with. This was a bad idea to begin with.

The Simpsons wore out their welcome, in my opinion, about ten seasons ago.

King of the Hill has never appealed to me. I just never got the humor and the animation is really terrible.

ER was finally laid to rest this past season. Don't know what kept it afloat for the past three or four seasons, but anyone it is gone and I won't miss it.

Well like a lot of others I am going to go with Simpsons which went significantly downhill about Season 10. I have gotten so into watching old shows on DVD that I cant even name that many shows that are on the air right now.

CSI - it just is not the same without Grissom.

Um... All of them. TV as a whole just isn't very good lately. All the shows I watched last season were big dissapointments - Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, The Office, and whatever else I can't remember watching. The only show I like that I heard didn't go downhill was Lost, and I decided to wait for the DVD to view this season. I'm just going on what most people have said but I heard this season was pretty tight.

You know, it's weird, because I've read that so many people feel the big ABC shows (Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, and Grey's Anatomy) have all gone downhill. I think people just tend to have an extreme amount of nostalgia for the first seasons, because only Grey's Anatomy has seen a real drop to me. And a show can't honestly expect to please every viewer every season.

I know that Heroes has gone to hell though. I gave up on it midway through season 2.

South Park lost it's entertainment value 3 or 5 seasons ago (though there are still a few episodes here and there, when I bother to catch them anymore).

But it's not surprising that some tv dramas go south sometimes, because a lot of them start with a breakout idea (such as DH's mystery or Heroes' "Save the cheerleader") and don't quite know what to do after that. I know DH's second season was a mess--it couldn't decide to focus on the Applewhites or the Youngs--but it picked itself up in season 3.

Honestly, The Simpsons first came to my mind. As much as I love it, it's not just as good as it used to.

I feel like Family Guy, Desperate Housewives, and Ugly Betty just keeps getting better and better as the seasons continues, but that's just my opinion.

Does anyone else hates that phrase "jump the shark"? I feel like it's an overused word that people use when things aren't going their way on their favorite shows.

Actually, I've been enjoying Heroes. Maybe I'm just easy to please, but the only season I thought wasn't up to par was the second, maybe that was only because it was 11 episodes.

I agree with you Panfan. I feel like the second season could have been stronger, especially since they had time to go back and make more episodes after the strike had ended (which most shows did). The past season, though not as great as the first, was definitely a step towards the right direction and I can't wait to buy it on Blu-ray. I'm hoping for a great fourth season as well (which there will be a BD exclusive sneak peak of when the third season is released). I do watch quite a bit of shows, but I don't seem to think that many of them are going downhill. I guess I'm just thankful that I have something to watch that I'll take anything.

Tell me about it. I am watching all sorts of shows from the 60s, 70s and 80s on DVD. All of them are superior than anything on TV now - they are funnier, obviously way more action shows. Just tons of reality crap now. They cost nothing to produce and enough people watch them to make some money. Lousy entertainment though. Time to go watch some Twilight Zone, Quantum Leap, Rockford Files, Addams Family and Wild, Wild West now.

Umm... if you can't appreciate the currently-running "30 Rock" as one of the TV comedy greats, then I don't know what to say. Not to mention "Arrested Development". Yeah, there's a lot of crap on TV, but there's always been crap on TV. It was less noticeable and there was less of it when there were only four channels all competing directly, but its only logical that as you increase channels, you increase the amount of crap on them. There's still good shows.

Actually I have just started watching 30 Rock and I am enjoying it. Also liked Boston Legal.

I think the profileration(sp?) of channels has affected things not so much by adding more bad shows but by splitting the audience, lowering the rating per show and thus forcing networks to make cheaper fare.
