Revamped Electrical Parade this summer
So a friend of mine who works at the park says that this summer when Electrical Parade returns there are gonna be some major changes.
1. The music is being updated. I don't know what that means, but apparently it's being given a more electronic sound. I hope it's not too drastic.
2. The Blue Fairy is being replaced with Tinkerbell who will now have her own float leading the show.
3. Pixie dust lights will trail throughout the entire show on each float.
4. Pinocchio's section is returning. I'm happy about this most of all, but now it really doesn't make sense to cut the Blue Fairy if her movie is back in the show.
5. The original Snow White section is returning. What has been just the float driven by Dopey and followed on foot by the other characters will not have the others on a mine shaft float once again. Yay!
Overall, I'm just glad they're not getting rid of it with the new revised theme park. It actually fits in better now with the old fashion style DCA is taking on. Especially since old Disney characters are finally going to be represented in the park. Thought? Comments?

NOOOOO!!!!
Thsi is terrible
!!! The Blue fairy was the symbol and tradition of the Electrical Parade. Tinkerbell will suck!
. Dosen't Tinkerbell already oppen the Wishes fireworks spectacular. Is Tinkerbell going to be the opener for everything now?!!!
The Elecrical parade was my favoriet parade too
 . WHYYYY!!!!

I heard they are replacing the music with the music from the Tokyo version of the parade and they are replacing the circus with pleasure island. Maybe the cast member playing the blue fairy will walk. I doubt she was wearing a full costume cause you could only see the top half of her. They need to get lazy Alice off the mushroom and make her walk.

They are using Tokyo's music which I am happy about. I love watching that parade in Tokyo. It's not much different, just a little alterations.
Here is a video discussing the changes.

People are complaining about the changes on several videos of the old Electrical Parade ,they don't like Blue Fairy being dumped for Tinkerbell and some don't like the circus unit being dumped as well. Maybe Snow White won't have to walk anymore with the mine unit being added. Surprised Goofy hasn't crashed the train yet.

You know what would be awesome?
If they eventually did a Princess and the Frog float in honor of it being the first 2D animated fairy tale in years. That movie has a ton of magical places that could be turned into beautiful light floats. Heck, Tiana's Lily Pad dress alone would make an amazing light dress.
Anyways, it seems that this new versions borrows a lot from Tokyo Disneyland's Dreamlights Parade while keep many elements of the original flat intact.
Its about time, too. The original parade was looking pretty bad considering the technology available.

Okay, the sad thing is, obviously at one point I knew about this, but when reading Jim Hill Media this morning, it did not ring a bell. I was excited all over again, I guess...wow, my memory is horrible.
Electrical Parade” unplugged, sent back East as DCA preps for “Disney’s World of Color”

It was kind of interesting hearing the reaction yesterday when Meg Crofton, president of The Walt Disney World Resort, revealed that the “Main Street Electrical Parade” would be returning to the Magic Kingdom this summer.
The reason:Maybe if this were 2011 and the Resort was getting ready to celebrate its 40th anniversary, then it might make sense for WDW to bring back the MSEP. Especially when you take into consideration that the very last time that the “Main Street Electrical Parade” rolled through the Magic Kingdom was April 1, 2001.
But no. That’s not what’s happening here. This classic parade isn’t coming back to Disney World for 2011. The “Main Street Electrical Parade” is slated to start running through the Magic Kingdom again starting in early June.
...[to] get 9,000 people safely loaded into Paradise Bay’s new waterfront viewing area [for "World of Color] while still maintaining control over those other 9,000 Guests who are patiently waiting in line elsewhere in the Park for “World of Color” ‘s second show of the night) while still running “Disney’s Electrical Parade” through the Park on hot summer nights … This would be a recipe for disaster.
Well, according to what my guy in the Team Disney Anaheim building has heard, 2015 could be the year that an all-new version of the MSEP starts rolling through that theme park [Disneyland]. With many of the more beloved floats from this classic Disneyland parade being artfully reimagined using only the very latest in luminescent technologies.
