Wow Cindy must be very strong for her to lift and hold that big of a pumpkin effortlessly under palm of her hand.

Cindy with pumpkin is very similar to a pose where she is holding a soap bubble from her first feature's song, SING SWEET NIGHTENGALE (my spelling is terrible). The pose has appeared in other forms (Cindy holding a bird, a mouse, etc.). Still, it's a nice variant.

As side note, it's hard to get an all new pose of these characters done, unless the artist has tremendous clout and/or the producer of the project insists on it. Otherwise, Character poses tend to become "signature" poses and be heavily reused (the one with Cindy twirling her dress, head tilted as she smiles coyly at the camera, is one of the most common).

I feel a bit perplexed with this "re-release". I understand that it is a way to promote The Princess and the Frog and introduce Tiana to the Princess line but why didn't they just release the second volume instead to promote it rather than just the same one with songs from volume 2 as bonus features? Does that mean that they have scraped the line and we are getting just the final nail in the coffin of the series? I hope not.

I think that they are doing this because volume 1 came in 2007, and it would be weird to release the second volume 2 years later.
So maybe this re-release is the return of the line, because if it was the end it would not promote the second volume with Cinderella and Mulan.

Well, I have a feeling Disney is desperate for some DTV cash. Also, I think Disney's stance on the matter is, this was released just a few years ago... It can't do much more damage. Plus, Disney's notorious for not wasting their finished animation footage, so this release is the perfect vehicle for getting some easy cash.

That's not to say there won't be another release in the series... But at the very least, there won't be another new Enchanted Tales Volume until after TPATF is out on DVD and BD.

Ok, Disney does not make any sense here! They should just release Volume II. I do not get re-releasing a useless Special Edition Disc that no one is going to buy! However, I do want the second disc lol. Is it going to be inside the DVD case or outside in a cardboard slip case?

Wait...after intensive searching of all my posts here, turns out it was at another forum!

In summary, the argument was what's the difference between making new DTVs and re-releasing the old? Lasseter felt that the 'Disney Princess Enchanted Tales' line hurt the success of theatrical princess films, so he halted production on new volumes.

But, they plan to re-release the existing volume? How is that much different? Either way you are putting a less-than-Disney's best film into the hands of consumers. Why would whether or not it's new or a re-release matter?

Here's my original debate:

"Disney pulling cheap tricks to get more money from consumers is no new thing and comes as no surprise. However, I think they're seriously pulling a double standard. By now I've just come to terms with the fact that they constantly re-release their films on VHS/DVD/Blu-Ray with little change between each one, but add buzz words like "45th Anniversary Edition" or "First Time on 2-Disc DVD" to excite consumers into a purchase.

But the sequels, too? Disney announced with great fanfare that the sequels to their animated features canon would no longer be produced. That Ariel's Beginning would be the last 2D sequel film and the five TinkerBell films would round off all sequels/spin-offs altogether.

They said this was because the sequels were shameful and spit on the integrity of the originals.

That's fine, I guess, except now they are re-releasing all the sequels! If they are so embarrassed then why don't they stop re-releasing? I know its for money, but making the sequels earns them money, too. So why stop making new sequels yet continue to re-release old ones? It's a double standard that I just don't get!

I really liked Pooh's Heffalump Movie and Piglet's Big Movie. I'm kind of sad I won't be seeing any more 2D Pooh sequels. So why did they cancel making new sequels if they are still coming out with re-releases of the past ones?

Jungle Book 2 just re-released few months back. 101 Dalmatians II is coming out real quick here. A special edition of Little Mermaid II is coming in a few months.

So, the 2 music videos probably won't be whole segments from the unreleased Cinderella & Mulan stories, just one song each, right? And what about the unreleased Belle & Aurora segments? I do think that Disney should at least put out two more volumes, with the finished stories. Then they can be done with it. Why create something but never get your money back on it? It's worse to waste money on the finished product that no one will see versus releasing it and "cheapening the brand" a little more?

I got the Enchanted Tales DVD for Christmas in 2007, and honestly, I haven't yet watched it, even though it has Jasmine in it. BUT, I have a lot of DVDs that I have yet to watch. I am interested in it; I don't think that it'll necessarily be the best quality, but I'm sure it'll be fun enough to watch. And I need to find out why Jasmine is a Peacock Princess.

But, I agree with you, in terms of people will see this and think, Oh, that's just cheap Disney product, it's saturating the market. At the same time, though, I guess Lasseter isn't going to spend money making "inferior" product; he'd rather use the money to create quality product. So, Disney isn't "wasting" money creating inferior sequels, but they're not spending any production money- just marketing money and materials- to rerelease the sequels. Why deny the current generation the ability to see such fine fare as Lady and the Tramp II or The Little Mermaid II (they're two of my favorite sequels, so I'm not being too sarcastic!)?

I'm kind of sad I won't be seeing any more 2D Pooh sequels.

Well, we don't know that there won't be any more. Who knows: there could be more DAC Pooh sequels in the future if the 2011 does well. And, with Pooh, they released DVDs with "My Friends Tigger and Pooh"; I know that that's not quite the same as a regular theatrical or DTV sequel, but maybe Pooh will be an exception to the sequel rule. Or not. Time will tell.

I, too, wish they'd just release the other two volumes and be done with it.

A Kingdom of Kindness had:

Beastly Manners - more of Belle teaching the Beast how to act

Aurora throws a surprise birthday party for Philip.

Honest and True had:

Jaq and Gus accidentally spill Cinderella's flower seeds into Cook's
pies, the palace is treated to a one-of-a-kind dessert.

Mulan's Grandma Fa tells a tiny fib about a wish-granting cricket, she
creates a really big mess.

We don't know if we have any guarantee they completely animated these
episodes. If so, then they most likely wouldn't finish the series. Could we have been seeing partially finished episodes in the ads? If so, that's probably why they are only releasing the music videos on the re-release, because that's all that's done.

I'm crazy enough to like these and want to see these four episodes come out. I don't care if they don't do any new ones, but these four above were promised so I want to see them finished!

Well, I think that they have almost completed the "Kingdom of Kindness" episodes.

Because apart from the original trailer, we have seen a preview of Aurora's episode in the Cinderella 3 DVD, which included the song: "When you love someone".

And from Belle, we've seen the trailer and her full music video "You'll never lose this love"
