Hmm, yeah not sure I agree with that list. But I agree that it's one of the funniest shows in TV history. I can't pick 10 or 20 of my favourite episodes, because they're all great, but I do like watching the beginnings of episodes, because I don't usually watch repeats right from the start. I usually come about 2 or 3 minutes into it, so whenever I get to watch it right from the start it strikes me just how funny the show is, cause the beginnings are hilarious. I don't mean the couch gags, I just mean from the beginning of an episode. I can't wait for the Simpsons movie either, it's gonna be great.
EDIT- One of my favourites episodes is The Mysterious Vogaye of Homer Simpson, where he eats that chilli and goes crazy. It has the best creativity and the dialogue is funny beyond words. One of my fave eps. Oh, and Summer of 4ft 2 is great as well. I like the character development there, and since Lisa's my fave character, it's great to see her be so witty and have her make friends. :)

I don't know what "Best" means - but after just seeing the "Italian Bob" episode, I can say safely this show is the funniest television program in history. I haven't laughed that hard in so long...

I have no idea what "T-Virus" means.

But I revived it because I had something to say.

From what I have seen, I am not really fond of the new HD episodes. Sure, it looks better, but the stories and jokes are just so bland that it just does not matter much. I just want them to put the show out of its misery (I never thought I would have to say that). The same goes for Family Guy and King of the Hill.

Since this thread has surfaced...

I am a bit annoyed at how Family Guy has been poking fun of The Simpsons for a while now. It seems Seth McFarlane is feeling very cocky since he now has three shows on Fox and is now attacking his only current competitor; The Simpsons.

First it was one joke where Stewie said how he didn't like the time he sold out, and it cuts to a scene where he was selling Butterfinger, an obvious nod to when Bart used to sell the candy bar. It annoyed me because Seth is the last guy to talk about selling out. The only reason he has his Calvacade Shorts is because he partnered with Burger King and other companies. There are a lot of Family Guy items for sell and it has received multiple DVD releases.

But the joke that really annoyed me was one scene which was making fun of those graphic bar ads for upcoming shows (Coming up next The Simpsons, like that). The bar had Marge Simpson advertising The Simpsons, when all of a sudden Quagmire appears and jumps on Marge and tries to have sex with her, in other words implied rape. She then appears and says she enjoyed it, and the scene cuts to the Simpson household where Homer discovers the infidelity and Quagmire proceeds to shoot and kill everyone, including Maggie.

I may be over thinking this, I understand that Family Guy is all about topical humor and such. But really, these jokes just tell me that the FG team is so full of it that they don't need to pay respect to a show that got them on the air. King of the Hill never did this. Hell not even South Park never did this. In fact they paid RESPECT to the show more than once, and SP is all about making fun of EVERYTHING in the worst way possible.

The Simpsons may lack the spark, wit and charm that got them where they are today, but let's not forget that this show has a legacy. It played a big part in the development of animated comedies and spawned some very talented people. You can make jokes about it, but one thing is joking and the other is showing disrespect, and I believe Seth McFarlane did the latter in a stupid attempt to further prove how Family Guy's success was a fluke.

Sorry for rambling but I am a big Simpsons fan and even if they aren't as good as they used to I still cherish and respect them.

Considering Seth McFarlane guest starred in the final futurama movie, I think it is more of a friendly rivalry rather than mockery. The only reason simpsons doesn't mock family guy in response is because it's better than that (and considering it parodies just about everything else, including HM, it just goes to show how low FG is :P). FM is crude and rude and (although advertising might say otherwise) appeals to a different audience than to the Simpsons. Don't let something not made for you get to you.

I think the most important asset to The Simpsons was Brad Bird. When he left, the show went rapidly downhill. In a way, he was the Walt Disney to The Simpsons. He made sure episodes had heart and meaning, quality in animation (notice nowadays episodes have very uninspired 'angles' and shots - maybe it is harder to be more creative when you do things digitally) and generally decent storylines. So they've been on the air for twenty years - big whoop. There's still so much they can still cover, especially as an animated program. I still follow the simpsons very closely, about 50% of the time they produce episodes I'd love to watch over and over again, which is better than most series. People just tend to be too dismissive of the show because of it's drop in quality, and maybe that's ok.

My favourite season is season six. It also happens to be the season with the best dvd packaging. No other season has such a creative and strong theme to it than season six. The whole setup is amazing, the booklet, the cover (which was very smartly designed), the disc art, the dvd menus. All based on the 'who shot mr burns part 1' mystery. If only they did this for following seasons, even if there was no significant episode to base them on.

This season has my two favourite episodes, Lisa On Ice and And Maggie Makes Three. I am considering buying season 4 and 7 later on. A lot of people say the drop of quality starts at season 10, and I'd have to agree. However for some reason, season 15 had a particularly amazing run.

A new season of futurama will start airing next year. Although some of recent material of the last 2 years have been lacklaster, the other half was quite good. I hope somewhat that the rivival of the show will start some friendly competition with it's older counterpart, and hopefully produce more quality.
