It's definitely sad, but at the same time, I think Don Hahn put it well:
"I have such a mix of emotions, on one hand we can celebrate the warmth and comic gift that Wayne brought to his voice role, not to mention the astounding achievement of sustaining Mickey Mouse at superstar status for over three decades. On the other hand, I'll miss his friendship and the joy he brought to so many of us who worked with him." (from the D23 article)

We'll definitely look back fondly on Mr. Allwine's contributions to Disney, but it's always hard to lose someone so cared about.

It's nice that "In Allwine's memory, flowers or toys can be sent in Mickey's name to Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, or donations can be made to such children's charities as the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Guide Dogs of America or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital." He seemed and his wife seems like such sweet people, it's sweet how flowers and toys are being sent to children in Mickey's name.

Wow that's very good Slave2moonlight I like, very inspiring... sort of reminds me of a tribute pic I saw for Mel Blanc, they had the Looney Tunes standing on stage, with a mic stand, heads bowed.

Yeah, I stayed up last night making it. Thanks. After doing one for Dom Deluise, I didn't want to miss doing one for Wayne.

Not necessarily. Get a load of this: http://voiceactors.wordpress.com/2009/0 ... key-mouse/.

It said that "auditions for his successor as the voice of Mickey [had] been going on for several months,” and that Allwine had been "very active in the selection process."

So here's hoping that they find a replacement very soon. I'm pretty sure it will be at least a decent replacement for Wayne, especially since it says that he has helped out here. Keep your fingers crossed...

Wayne Allwine will always be Mickey once again and he will be missed. I've been watching it on TV and listening to music and we will always be remembered Wayne Allwine as the voice of Mickey. I do be listening to of the songs from the parks and albums in tribute to Wayne Allwine soon. RIP

As Mickey would say "See you real soon!"

I've been out of the loop for a while, I guess. I just found out about this, very sad! I feel bad for his wife, its gonna be hard to do Minnie's voice with someone else doing Mickey's. I wonder who will do the voice next?

No clue, but maybe do you think Russi should retire?

As we all know, it's been just a day over two years since his passing, and I think we should all just take a little more time to remember him. :(
