Disney has redone (with really bad results) the spanish dubs of some movies, because of legal issues that supossedly prevent they of using the original dubs. As you know, Snow White is going to be re-released in October. I ask you to sign the petition to restore the original 1938 and 1964 dubs even if you do not speak spanish.

Please emphasize that the 1938 dub is preferred over the 2001 dub especially if the 1964 dub can't be used.

I'll sign it after I find out more information:

1. Are both the 1938 and the 1964 dubs unavailable due to legal reasons? If so, the petition is asking Disney to please somehow get all the legal rights to those two dubs?

2. If both dubs are available, is the 1938 dub preferred?

It still baffles me why foreign-language Disney films get redubbed. It just boggles my mind.

1. The 1964 dub is unavailable due to legal reasons. When the Platinum Edition was released, instead of using the 1938 dub, they created a completely new dub. Why they can't use the 1938 dub is unknown.

2. I think both dubs would be liked. The 1938 dub for historical reasons, and the 1964 dub because it is the most known.

I added my name. It's weird how there was no spot for comments...because I would've written something besides my first name....

I hope it gets more than the 20 signatures it said it has so far.

They probably think since it wasn't the original version anyway, it doesn't matter of it gets redubbed. Also, a chance to make a film a bit more contemporary. Why it needs to be that doesn't make any sense to me either.

I signed it. I remember Dottie doing a similar thing before, and it got quite a lot of signatures. Good luck!
