I got Stitch! The Movie. I was also going to get As Time Goes By, Series 6, but saw that they (Borders) had the Home on the Range "art of" book in-store, so got that instead of the As Time Goes By. The next DVD I'll get will be Brother Bear, of course, next week.

On Sunday I got The Ten Commandments and a boxset of 3 Audrey Hepburn Movies (Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina, Roman Holiday). I can't open them until I pay back my dad, though.

Last Saturday I picked up Castaway: 2 disc Special Edition($12.99) at my F.Y.E. and my mom's order of Song of the South($60.00 for both the VHS & DVD) from extinctvideos.com finally came Thursday. So I'm all DVDed out 'til sometime late this week, when Brother Bear: 2 disc Special Edition($29.99 for DVD, lithos, pin and Beanie Babies from Disneystore.com) should come. For some reason all the preorders we've done from Disneystore.com seem to come the Friday/Saturday before they come out.
On a different note, glad to see no one's picked up Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat

Er. We got Cat in the Hat last week. Fantastic opening (the altered studio logos - Dreamworks' is superb) and Fantastic ending (because it finishes). The 90 odd minutes in the middle are rubbish (Dakota Fanning tries hard, but fails).
This week:
Kim Possible: The Secret Files (R1)
Kim Possible: A Stitch In Time (R1)
I got both of these in a pack for £20, which isn't bad. I've seen very few Kim Possibles myself.
What's New Scooby Doo vol 2 (R1)
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1932 and 1941) (R1)
These were in my Amazon Big Order due to ship at the end of May, but for some reason Amazon slipped these two out early. Thankfully they came to just under the personal import limit!
I made a mistake when buying Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - I thought the 1932 film was the silent version starring John Barrymore. Apparently that was made in 1920. Still the 1932 version is supposed to be good - I think the 1941 version has a poorer reputation.
and Loomis pursuaded me to buy:
Cabin Fever (R2)
which I'm not so sure about, I think I may have made a mistake. The UK version has an exclusive 40 minute Eli Roth featurette. Quite what he can say for 40 minutes of any value after jabbering away on 5 (yes, 5) commentary tracks is beyond me though - that's almost 8 hours of Eli Roth talking on the DVD! Oh, it also has the Naked News film review as an Easter Egg too (two versions, one with a female host and one male host). Still, it makes a change for Loomis to get me to buy DVDs (it's usually the other way round!)

Ain't that the truth! Cabin Fever is an interesting one: The R1 has all the commentaries, and a few fluff features; while the R2 has all the commentaries plus the 40 minute thing and the Naked News segments so it is overall better value. But then the local R4 version only has one commentary, but it has a different 40 minute interview done with Popcorn Taxi - a type of film forum run here, with Eli Roth and a few others. Every region has exclusive features, but the R2 seems overall best value.2099net wrote: Still, it makes a change for Loomis to get me to buy DVDs (it's usually the other way round!)
Keeping with the horror theme...
Well, I bought 28 Days Later last night. I saw it in HMV with the sexy red slipcover (EXCLUSIVE to HMV
It sounds amazing. I, my girlfriend and the cat all jumped out of our seats during at least one scene. Quite a good little film that proves the English still do the best horror...
I have 3 DVDs on order that may interest you then...they are the Director's Series (Chris Cunningham, Michel Gondry & Spike Jonze) - the latter has at least 2 Weezer videos on there, including the brilliant Buddy Holly.Mermaid Kelly wrote:Weezer Video Capture Treasures from the Vault! Anybody who likes Weezer's music should DEFINATLY buy this!!! Only $10 on sale at Best Buy!

Dirty Dancing : The Ultimate Edition!!!
Yay! Now my weekend of crap films/80s nostaligia my girlfriend and I had planned can continue undisturbed (unless you thinking willingly watched Dirty Dancing is disturbed...which it probably is...).

Cripes!
Australia Post is working full-time for Loomis today. The following just arrived by "Parcel Post" (as opposed to what the other 2 were):
- The Work of Director Michel Gondry
- The Work of Director Spike Jonze
- The Work of Director Chris Cunningham
Each are full of most of their music video work (Gondry's being most comprehensive); short films; advertisements and audio commentaries.
They also all came with a 52 page booklet each. Looks like I well and truly have my weekend planned out for me. 5 DVDs in one day! Woohoo!
(Oh, and Mermaid Kelly - the 2 Weezer videos were the Sweater Song and Buddy Holly - both are great...)

In honour of my new avatar and the cheesy horror thread, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers Limited Edition Tin arrived today.
It takes up more shelf space than it really should, but still looks pretty neat.

The Best of Most Haunted Live Vol 1 UK
It's a two disc set! Almost 6 hours of paranormal experiments!
(Poor Yvette, it's clear she doesn't want to be in most of the places! Sometimes she looks very uncomfortable.
