You people haven't seen ponyo? It's been out for a year now... the DVD was released not to long ago (along with a whopping 9 disc version)

Up receives PG rating

Pixar’s forthcoming feature Up has received a PG rating by Motion Picture Association of America. The official Up website displays the PG rating for “Some Peril and Action.” Up is the second Pixar film after The Incredibles to receive the PG rating.

Huh, that's somewhat odd.

I never trust the MPAA, anyway. They've been proven to be nothing but a small group of parents and former-parents who end up either overrating or underrating far too many films.

On the plus side, this will probably get some more kids to see this.

Today I learned how the law is very hard to define. How can you define "schools may strip their students' clothes of drugs under reasonable reasons" (well, something like that.) So how reasonable is your reason? But my point is, you can't really justify reasons for giving these movies any ratings. How can you define where seeing blood is rated? Is a little okay enough for PG, dried or fresh blood? So, I don't give much thought in anything the MPAA gives movies.

PG? Doesn't mean anything. I'm still hoping it will be the the "fun old Pixar" film that will be like "their beginning films." As much as I love their present day ones, I would love another Monsters, Inc and Toy Story 2.

I agree with you there, but you should check out a DVD titled "This Film Is Not Yet Rated". It's unbelievable. At least in Britain, they allow other parents to put in their 2 cents, but these guys operate with about as much secrecy as the OSS, or CIA. And their's only a few of them, which makes for very little credibility.

thanks a lot for the link. the new movie poster arts look really good. It's hard to tell which one is the best, think all show a funny scene. Also the artwork pages looks great.

No, let me re-word. Parents who's kids are all grown up and in their 20's and 30's.

I was disappointed yesterday because my boss, who lives with her two nieces and nephew, said she wasn't going to take them to see Up because "she really hasn't heard anything about it".

She is taking them to see Transformers 2.

Disney must not be doing enough, even though I certainly have been saturated with it everywhere.

UP will be rated PG (1st Pixar rated PG since THE INCREDIBLES in 2004) but Transformers is going to be PG-13 and have a lot more violence and adult material....I'd say UP should win in that case.

Sadly, some people don't understand the concept of film advertising. Just yesterday, I told my dad that I wanted to see Wolverine this weekend, and the first thing he says is "Is it animated?". I may sound immature, but

at those people and shame on them for choosing what is inevitably the worse film opening on that date.

Do I hear anything(opening) for the 21st? Going once.....Going twice......

How could you miss coverage for this film! Maybe it's cause I am a Pixar fan but it seems to be everywhere. Just this morning I saw this TIME mag review. But be careful because it has tons of spoilers. I enjoyed reading it though and for those opting to wait to see the film for all the details, I'll leave you with this -

Docter says he had a ball digging fresh ground, finding "this nice new road that we got to go out and drive on." The story of a septuagenarian grouch who uses his cane, hearing aid and dentures to thwart all evildoers; a buddy movie whose pals are separated by 70 years; a love story that transcends the grave — has there been a movie like this in the history of feature animation? "Well," says the man who made Up, "I hope not!"

I have no doubt that UP will dominate the box office either
