I see Blu Ray as a luxury item for those who invest in HiDef television sets, and want prestine pictures. Believe it not I remember reading how most tax rebates were being spent on HD TV sets.

Of course not everyone is going to buy a Blu Ray player, and most people will be satisified with their DVDs. Not everyone can drive a BMW, however those who can afford such items enjoy it. I don't know why DVD owners feel so threatened...no one is taking DVD away it's still here...Disney is just trying to push a new an exciting format. To have the best sound and picture quality

There goes another Bluray fanboy once again belitteling those who haven't bought into it. In a Bluray fanboy's mind, the only possible explanation we haven't switched to Bluray is because we can't afford it. It would never enter his mind that maybe we can afford it, but we just choose to not spend it on unnecessary luxury items.

Actually I think you need to learn how to read, and not read what you want it to be. I'm not belittling anyone. I even said most people will be satisifed with their DVDs. I made the car analogy because Marky said that it wouldn't be the standard for awhile because of how expensive it is...it's not belittling it just is what it is. I apologize that you take this to heart.

Yea I get what CampbellzSoup was trying to say and he certainly wasnt trying to put anyone down. I personally havent gone with BluRay yet simply because its not practical for me at this time. Once I get my media room completed with HDTV THEN I will invest in BluRay in my future purchases. If you are happy with the quality of DVDs then I dont think anyone here is going to bother themselves trying to change your mind. Enjoy them! :)

Disney's official site has made reference to the PE of Snow White, Here

Image

Although the page just says "coming soon", it does confirm the cover art. I already posted my thoughts about the cover art Here

I like how they the logo encased within a shape, like the other PE releases (although it's too plain looking).

I wonder why in that picture, the hag is in the center and Snow White's at the bottom? Maybe it should be re-titled Red Apple and the Old Peddler Woman there. :?:

And I realized the box has the same color scheme as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Not that it matters...

I think I'm just going to wait till November and double dip b/c I still have the first Snow White PE from the day it came out when I was 11 years old. And maybe I can sell it for a good bargain and then get the new 2-Disc DVD b/c it would be pointless for me to get the Bluray + DVD b/c I dont have a Bluray player or an HDTV.

^Hey, I was 11 when the first DVD came out, and I bought that one.

But like SB, I might just keep it for the inevitably unported bonuses. Dopey's game is still better than most of it's kind.

^ So you are/going to be 16 this year too?

Yeah, maybe. I still need to wait and see when it is released. There is one thing I do know, I will not buy it from eBay b/c I ordered Pincchio on eBay on April 6 and didnt get it until April 15 and it was suppose to come "new" but it didn't have the plastic wrap around it and it didnt have the DMR and it was missing some other inserts it only came with the Bluray and DVD guide inserts. I ordered the bonus pack with the Jiminy Cricket plush and specifically asked for the box to be shipped too and all I got was the Jiminy wrapped in bubble wrap. I was so disappointed, and then the seller got mad at me for giving them a low rating stating that it was my fault they didnt get this free thing on Paypal or something like that.

The cover art for this release is appalling. When I first saw the cover I liked it; I liked the new direction Disney was going in. After looking at it for a few days, and seeing this alternate version, I really don’t know what to say. If you totally disregard Snow White, a few dwarfs, and Grimhilde being off-model, you still can’t get over the fact that the cover looks like it’s for “Snow White II: The Queen’s Revenge”. It really looks like an “Enchanted Tales” cover. Snow White is completely off-model and needs to be fixed. It’s a huge advertisement for the Disney Princess franchise, and Snow White deserves more respect.

The cover with the giant apple is equally ugly. The reflections in the apple look like they were cut out in Photoshop, warped onto the apple, and then they lowered the opacity. These are some of the worst covers I’ve ever seen. Disney is a company founded on Art, maybe it’s time they sent that message to their home entertainment graphics department. I could do, and will attempt to do, a better job.

I rather have any one of those previously mentioned covers than have the cover with the Hag in the center. Since when is this move all about the Wicked Queen? Don’t get me wrong, I love the Villains, and I hate when they’re not given their fair share on the cover, but this is a tad too much. The movie is called Snow White, not “Old Lady with apple gets admired by handsome prince”.

I like the overall concept of the covers, and their layout. Having said that, the images and character models need to be fixed. This film deserves better. I do love the collector’s edition though.
I could not agree more. This is their biggest title and the cover art is worse than TLM2. It's horrible.

I really dislike Ebay and everything it stands for.

Not to mention I learned after watching a court show (forget the name) that consumers have very little rights on there. The case was that someone bought an item on Ebay and the picture that was on the page wasn't what they got. What they got was a item that was damaged and worn and there was a clear difference between the two. The image wasn't even a stock photo either. The judge agreed how wrong that was but the seller has no obligation to take refunds and that this specific consumer is not allowed to write a negative feedback about them.

I'll only buy second-hand items in person. First being ripped off $112(item never showed up but Ebay refunded the money minus fee to investigate or whatever) and then learning how little security I have when buying an item.

Thanks. My browser got obnoxiously slow when posting and then the page wouldn't load at all. I guess in my trying to get the page to load it posted it 4 times.

EDIT: Now I can't delete the posts. I removed the text from all but one post.

Snow White: Platinum Edition Blu-ray

Post by Disney Duster »

Chernabog, Campbellz, rowland, the Blue Fairy has sparkles, but she doesn't have lots of particles shooting around or falling, like, you know, how dust is made of many small particles, and falls?

I'm going by what The Animated Movie Guide said about Disney dust first being made officially in Cinderella.

Pluto Region1, I guess you missed where I said it's possible Snow White was 7 when she ran into the woods, but she might've also grown up over a long time with the dwarfs before the queen finally killed her. In the original tale she didn't lust after the prince, she didn't meet him until after she had "died' and woke up to his kiss.

Not to get too off-topic, but you're protected through eBay and PayPal; if the item isn't as described or is damaged, you first contact the seller. If he or she won't help you, you contact eBay and they help you out. And by using PayPal, you are protected, too.

I'm thinking that whoever wrote that (sorry- I don't remember who and don't feel like going back many pages) there might be a halogram (?) on the cover might be right; when you turn the cover one way, it's Snow White, and when you turn it the other it's the Queen turned hag...that makes sense, especially since the picture Disney Villain posted has Snow White in the middle. Unless Disney just isn't going to have the Queen as hag large on the cover at all...

Many of the Pics posted by other sites have Snow White in the middle, and that was my assumption. Though the other characters should be holographic as well.

Me thinks Queenie wants to drop the apple on Snow White. You have to hand it to her - she's a criminal mastermind!
