ABC Family Channel and Toon Disney New Lineup

Post by MickeyMousePal »

On ABC Family Channel Gargoyles airs Saturdays at 11:00 and 11:30 part of the new Jetix. Good news for me I really hope Gargoyes comes out on DVD.

Now new to Toon Disney are:
Power Rangers Ninja Storm
Power Rangers DinoThunder
Digimon
Beyblade VForce

Disney now owns the rights to these shows?
I hope not because they way Disney is acting the real Disney shows might dissapear like Gummi Bears and Care Bears from the Toon Disney lineup.
The Simpsons Season 11 Buy it Now!

Fox Sunday lineup:

8:00 The Simpsons
8:30 King of the Hill
9:00 Family Guy
9:30 American Dad

Gummi Bears hasn't been on like for 3 years because of stupid Teamo Supremo, Lloyd in space, Teachers Pet, Recess, and Fillmore. :x

I use to watch it when I was in juior high school. But now it's the same thing. I got over watching it like after 5 season of it.
I still watch it once in a while when nothing else is good to watch.

In the beginning, of course, the action shots were all rehashed Japanese action shows for the 1970s & 80s (notice the original yellow ranger is a man in the action shots, not the skinny woman in the "out-of-costume bits")

Luckily for American kids, when they ran out of footage, they had like 5 more series of Japanese groups that used the exact same concept.

Are they still doing that, or were they forced to film new action footage for the most recent outings?

Power Rangers isn't an animated show. so Power Rangers really shouldn't be on Toon Disney since the channel is only for animated shows and animated movies.

We obviously have different definitions of "Luckily" :D

It does sadden me to see Power Rangers get so much play on Toon Disney.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Disney only put Power Rangers, Digimon and Beyblade on Toon Disney to increase their ratings on ABC Family and ABC Kids(Saturday Mornings on ABC).

The WB(Kids WB on Saturdays Morning) is also with the Cartoon Network so their rates could say up. Cartoon Network has the rights to rebroadcast some of their high rated shows like Pokemon, Yugioh and Jackie Chan Adventures. Also Kids WB has the rights to rebroadcast Scooby-Doo where are You? and Teen Titans.

I've never been crazy about Power Rangers being Disney property anyways. But if it makes them money, then so be it, I 'spose... not doing me any harm. But it shouldn't be on TOON Disney, blah!

that is so wrong though! if its not genuine Disney, it shouldnt be on Toon Disney. Besides, putting a live action like Power Rangers on Toon Disney is sucking the "Toon" out of my hope of what toon disney was going to be (classic Disney cartoon series from the 80s and early 90s)

Those shows should just stay on ABC family channel (BRING BACK TOKYO PIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

And if the Disney Comp is complaining about how ABC Family does suck, then why dont they just sell it?!

Better than selling the entire comp to Comcast

I have a couple of questions too:

How in the world does putting the same shows on cable help the ratings of the local channels? Doesnt that defeat the purpose of having cable?

I come from a family who does not support cable Tv for some reason but I get the DIsney channel in my college dorm and it bothers that with the exception of the movies and playhouse Disney, I could pretty much see everything on the DIsney Channel in one Saturday morning on local TV without getting sick and tired of it. On ABC they keep showing the same episodes of Recess. It's a good show but it's too old for that type of running and needs a new show to replace it. I got piss when Fillmore started showing up on the Disney Channel. Disney needs to aim for uniqueness instead of repeitiveness with their tv channels

My other question is how and why in the world would DIsney want to get their hands on Power Rangers?! (I'm more about the how seeing that Disney is more about money these days?)

Beyblade is owned in the U.S. by Nelvana, who made the old Care Bears series for Saul Group/SFM (which used to air on Toon Disney). Digimon... well, I don't know and don't care who owns them anymore!

I believe they have been filming new stuff for quite a while now.

Slightly off topic, but since we are discussing Power Rangers, does anyone here have the Night Flight episodes of Dynaman from the 80's?
