I just remembered that The Black Cauldron's Masterpiece Edition VHS is probaly the best cover art EVER. The entire thing is shiny! and has good composition. I wish I still have it so I could frame it.

Belle's Magical World's cover was good :D.
Sleeping Beauty-the 2003 edition's cover was ugly.
The Little Mermaid PE and Cinderella PE,II and III were perfact.

Is it just me or do the original Disney Masterpiece VHS covers look better than the Platinum DVD ones ?

It's my opinion that pretty much all the VHS covers look better than DVD covers, but yeah the pre-DVD masterpiece covers were amazing for the most part.

I have the poster of it...I got it for Christmas a few years ago. It's not shiny, though. I guess just look up online stores that sell movie posters to find it, since I'm not exactly sure where it's from. I think that MovieGoods is a store that sells posters...

That's alright, I found a used copy of the VHS for $7. I haven't bought it yet, since I don't have that kind of random money, but I will get it soon. I just hope the cover art for the eventual re-release of the movie will be the same.

The 2003 Sleeping Beauty DVD was awful, and the Enchanted cover was very cheap.

Yes. But I think the best covers of all were the covers to the Black Diamond VHS collection movies.

The Ariel's Beginning cover is just OK and Tinker Bell cover looks like a kid's book, folder or some other kind of cheap and awful merchandise. :D.

I fixed that for you.

IMO, the absolute worst is Finding Nemo. Words can't describe how much I hate that cover. Other bad ones are The Little Mermaid's Platinum Edition, Pocaontas 10th Anniversary, and just about every GC.

One of my favorites is Bambi's Platinum Edition. That cover is truly a work of art. The 45th Sword in the Stone is also one of my favorites.

But back to the GC issue -- the GC covers are horrible. I wish they would have kept the VHS covers. Take Melody Time. I LOVE Melody Time's VHS cover. LOVE IT. It's one of my favorites. The DVD one I could do better with 5 minutes in Paint. ANYTHING would have been better. They put no effort into it!

No you didn't,the 2003 Sleeping Beauty DVD was awful,Aurora looks like a rag doll and Phillip looks like he's 80 years old in that cover, the Platinum Edition's is much better.
The Enchanted was CHEAP,insted of having both animated characters and live action characters or insted of new cliparts they used a poster that they used in million of ads and the spine, insted of having one side with live action Giselle with wedding dress and one side with animated Giselle in pink dress had Robert on other side  and they ripped off the logo from the Cinderella PE's logo.
Ariel's Beginning had a PERFACT cover,TinkerBell had a great cover, even better then some of the cover of the PEs.

Best
Alice in Wonderland - A simplistic cover that has a whimsical feel to it.
The Jungle Book - I just like the way the characters are positioned.
The Lion King - The cover has an epic look to it and the orange background definitely suits it well. It's a shame the DVD menus and extras weren't on the same level.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves - Probably the best home release cover thus far.

Worst
Aladdin - Our hero has a dead expression on his face that doesn't seem right. The VHS cover was way better.
Peter Pan - For some reason the characters don't look right to me. The composition could use some work.
Sleeping Beauty - The 2003 edition cover was a very poor one in my opinion. Aurora and Prince Phillip are particularly off model.[/b]

1. It's a bit bland, IMO.
2. The thing that really annoys me is the two logos. One has a black box behind it (Mulan Special Edition) while the other (Mulan II) doesn't and is perfect. It's almost like a 5-minute Photoshop project.
