I don't have a pedestal in my room, just a bookshelf, where the movie will sit sideways and won't be seen for months on end.

Besides, DVD was originally intended to "showcase" the films that are on it, but that's not the case.

I don't believe for a moment those covers with the big hag are real. Somebody's messing with you.

DVD Cover Art Matters: Uh, we want good-looking cover art that looks like the film and for a movie that deserves to get it to get it? What's wrong with that? But more than that, think about it:

We like the movies for their art. Right?

We'd like the covers to have good art, too.

What can I say, I love Disney art! We all love Disney art. And there it is.

So now, as for what I think of the covers.

I might like the DVD cover if the apple was a little more vertical and didn't have the most awful reflections ever. The evil queen or witch should be somewhere in the apple, too, or above the title.

I LOVE the Blu-ray cover with the witch on the bottom! Now we have the witch, the apple, the mirror, the prince, the queen, the dwarfs, the castle, the forest, and even a blue bird along with Snow White herself!

You all say "too busy" and "too crowded", but I love having A LOT to look at on the cover, it tries to get every important thing from the film! It's like a poster! It's awesome! I just love the perfect arrangement of everything! Oooh! Now I'm excited for my favorite films getting similar treatment! Too bad Sleeping Beauty and Pinoccho couldn't get it, though!

And if the cover were actually just the witch in the mirror with the queen on top, that would be so unbelievably awesome!!!

Just put the title in some logo or box!!!

I love the idea for the DVD cover art. I can hardly wait to see the final result! ^_^

As for the latest cover art for the Blu-ray cover art, Dopey gazing with infatuation at the Hag instead of at Snow White is its worst crime! Never mind the traffic jam of characters!

Strangely if you go to www.disney.com or www.disneybluray.com that Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs isn't even listed as Coming Soon or listed as a soon to be re-released - for the film that started it all I find it almost offensive , to see that it just doesn't seem to matter about the impending Platinum Edition!

There is a page on disney.com where it says sign up to be informed when this title becomes available!!

For goodness sake Disney we all know that it comes out on October 6th 2009!!

Why is there still no list of extras/special features either !!! :x :?

there's is something wrong with snow whites's dress. it's too long, too fluffy, too yellow. and there's a piece of yellow fabric on top of another piece of yellow fabric, like there is a yellow dress on top of the yellow dress, which is weird. they must be mistaken with cinderella's dress. they even added pixie dust, like it's a magical dress. but there is zero pixie dust in this film.

I don't like the dvd cover with the big red apple. graphically, it's okay. but apples are not so glossy that people can reflect in them. this just makes it all look plastic. and those ugly primary colors! the blue of the backround, the red of the apple and the bright yellow of the dress. this is terribly untasteful. this is not a circus!

as for the blu ray version, well, I was ok with the first rendition. but now… it's all so crowded, so complicated! princess + bluebird + prince + horse + queen + witch + apple + hand + 7 dwarfs + forest + castle + mirror + mirror glow + pixie dust + title logo + disney dvd logo + disney bluray logo + bluray frame. this is insane.

Deco the movie still has 6 months to be released I"m sure we can wait a few on the speical featuers list!

Now was their a reason that the prince's kiss awoke snow white? I don't remember if the queen included that in her inital spell or not...I know that the fairies put that reverse curse on Aurora so she could awake, but I'm sure the queen poisioned her...

If Sleeping Death" is anything like Maleficent's curse, it can only be awakened by true love's kiss. The Evil Queen probably figured that since the Shrill was dead, that she'd be buried, and thus, not receive a kiss. However, she probably didn't take into account Swippy being something of a necrophiliac. :P Why else would he kiss a corpse? Especially one on display in a glass casket for months on end...

Which also raises the question of, if she's really just asleep, she should've died of starvation by the time Prince arrived...or at least be three waist sizes smaller than Aurora by that point.

And I still want to know what would've happened if they had smooched at the beginning of the film since it's love's FIRST kiss that breaks the spell. Let that be a lesson, boys and girls, to not ever engage in public display of affection, for you'll never know if you'll need it to save your life one day. :P

Actually, it's mentioned in the spell. The Witch points at the text and reads aloud that the spell can only be broken by love's first kiss.

HighDefDigest has just reported this to be the final cover art.

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/show/ ... x_Art/2689

All that's changed is the "Platinum Edition" subtitle that's been added.

The Prince kissed Snow White because he finally found her and never got to kiss her or say goodbye. H ewas saying goodbye, just one kiss, not intercourse!

Kissing you're love for the first time feels like a whole different magic than any other kiss. Or maybe Walt was saying something about staying virginal. Don't kiss till you're ready for marriage

I love the title box for the title.

fiddlestick, now the current BD cover looks empty compared to the double-queen version

Just wondering, is the only non-animal character left out of the cover the huntsman?

Yes all the Disney Blu Ray website needs to do now is to add the new Snow white And The Seven Dwarfs trailer to the titles on it's front page !!

As Campbell says we can wait a little while longer for a list of all the Special Features/Extras etc. As I posted earlier my good friend BBC Broadcaster/Author Brian Sibley ( www.briansibley.com ) has recorded a series of interviews ( filmed in New York ! ) ( he is joined by many others John Canemaker Leonard Maltin et al ) for the Snow White Making Of documentary for the Blu Ray/DVD. Brian Sibley and Richard Holliss wrote the excellent Snow White book which was included in the Deluxe Laserdisc Box Set some years ago!

The Laserdisc Cover Art was much finer than the Blu Ray cover - come guys at Disney , surely the "latest" cover cannot be the final one this title deserves better than the best!!!

The front page has exciting news for people who like limited edition sets... read it, then come back here to discuss.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
