Its interesting to me that they are planning a 2-disc DVD release with a 1-disc Blu-Ray, but its a pretty smart idea. So many people complain that if they buy the Platinum Blu-Ray, they only get the first disc on DVD and can't watch the bonus features elsewhere. This way, they have the film in HD, but can watch everything else on any player in their house.

I like the new Blu Ray cover art marginally better than the first attempt , but it's still far away from the perfect cover for Disney's first full length animated motion picture.
Snow White herself is better than in the first attempt ! The Prince looks rather more "butch" than in the movie! But the
Wicked Queen is poorly represented and the face of the Witch is covered by the Poisoned Apple! Doc and Grumpy are poorly drawn , in fact all in all , the rather too busy cover is a mess!

I actually think it's a rather dumb idea (unless I am just confused, which I probably am, and thinking that Disney is no longer doing 2-disc BDs and the first disc DVD). Since I've been with BD for a couple of years, I would really like everything to be in HD. I think I'm just confused. So if this makes no sense, just ignore it.goofystitch wrote:Its interesting to me that they are planning a 2-disc DVD release with a 1-disc Blu-Ray, but its a pretty smart idea. Let's not jump to any conclusions. That link doesn't say anything about the release being 1 Blu-Ray and 2 DVDs. But I understand why you think it would be a good idea.goofystitch wrote:Its interesting to me that they are planning a 2-disc DVD release with a 1-disc Blu-Ray, but its a pretty smart idea. It actually does. It says 3pc, and Wbr. 3 piece with Blu-Ray.gregmasciola wrote: Let's not jump to any conclusions. That link doesn't say anything about the release being 1 Blu-Ray and 2 DVDs. But I understand why you think it would be a good idea.
Irregardless, I think that would be a good idea. Keep the same casing while adding a Blu-ray for the movie. I would definitely buy that.

Well, whether they do it as 2 DVDs with a Blu-Ray, or 2 Blu-Rays with a DVD, I'll be buying it, since I missed out on the first release (I didn't start collecting the Disney Classics on DVD until Jungle Book came out).Coolmanio wrote:It actually does. I think they are still doing both. My guess is that on October 6th, the 2-disc Blu-Ray with the 1-disc DVD will be released alongside the 2-disc DVD with the 1-disc Blu-Ray. In November, my guess is the 2-disc DVD by itself will come out.
The reason is that many people want all of the features on Blu-Ray to be in high definition, but there are others that only really care about the film in HD and would rather have everything else on DVD for the convenience of watching it anywhere (since most homes that have Blu-Ray have one player, but multiple DVD players). This also satisfies consumers who want the 2-disc DVD early because now you have access to it, but you are forced to buy it with a Blu-Ray disc whether you want it or not. Chances are you may have a player someday or you know somebody with one that you could give the disc to if you have no use for it. If you would rather save a little bit of money, then you have to wait until November.

I hope there will also be just a 2 disc DVD set available, without the BluRay-disc. Otherwise I'll have to go through the trouble of ritually burning it.goofystitch wrote:Its interesting to me that they are planning a 2-disc DVD release with a 1-disc Blu-Ray, but its a pretty smart idea. 1. 2 Disc Blu-ray and 1 Disc Dvd
2. 1 Disc Dvd and 2 Disc Blu-ray
3. 2 Disc Dvd
This means that I will be getting 3 different Snow White editions
I think...

Nah, I'm gonna be good for once...

@ajmrowland: I agree. There's no point debating this until it's announced. Otherwise we are just wasting our times arguing over "What ifs?"

Amazon has posted new cover art for the Blu-ray, and in my opinion, it looks even worse.

The DVD Artwork is still the same... Lucky DVD.
