There are no plans to do it anywhere else at the moment. Disney World had a long refurbishment on the attraction about 2 years ago, so it won't need anything extensive done for a few years. The main reason they did it in Disneyland was because the rides waterways were rotting and they needed to be redone, so they decided to repair everything in the attraction and add the characters like they did for the Hong Kong version.

The characters in the ride are really popular in Hong Kong, but that is also the only version of the ride they've ever had. I rode it in Disneyland last month and I personally don't mind most of the characters, but there are things about it that I don't like. Mulan is flying a kit that looks like Mushu and it is HUGE! I hardly noticed anything else in the room because of it. I would like for the kite to be removed because its very distracting. I also felt that Aladdin and Jasmine were flying to close to your boat and wish they would raise them higher and I hated the Toy Story characters at the end because their designs don't blend well with the other figures.

Personally, I hope that having the characters in the ride remains unique to Disneyland. Over the years, so many attractions have been removed from Disneyland or Disney World and whats nice is they usually keep one of the two (Contry Bears is now only at WDW, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is now only at Disneyland, the Tiki Room is original at Disneyland and updated in WDW, and now Small World is updated in Disneyland and original in WDW). It's nice to be able to experience attractions a different way at each park as long as the original is still available somewhere in the US.
