Slumdog Millionaire DVD Error

Post by PixarFan2006 »

Has anyone who bought Slumdog Millionaire on DVD gotten the disc with no bonus features? I recently sent out for my replacement disc.

I guess what confuses my is why bother making a disc that only has the movie on it to begin with. I get that it's for rental purposes, but why? It's not like it 's a two disc set to begin with, and they need to make a version that just has one disc. Are there reports of people trying to watch single disc movies, accidentally watching the special features instead, then getting horribly confused when a making-of featurette comes on instead?

Because Fox wants people to buy DVDs instead of renting them. You can read about it here: http://www.videobusiness.com/article/CA6642010.html

Fox hit it below the belt a few too many times, now.

Wha? We've had rental only DVDs in the UK since the format began (although to be fair, its rarer and rarer for them to have different specs, but it still happens sometimes).

Why is it below the belt. Generally a renter won't be interested in special features, and I'm sure Fox make more money from a DVD sale than from a single rental.

It wouldn't affect anybody here apart from the pressing error.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
