Japan covers for The Little Mermaid and Cinderella are awesome. (The "alternate" PE ones)
Is Korea considered Southeast Asia? I'm gonna order The Black Cauldron from this site that imports DVDs and they have Korean Pinocchio for like $4... if that's the 2003 master than I'm so adding it
(I was also gonna get Fantasia, the cover looks like it could be bootleg so I'm not sure... if it's the same as the Japanese and European Fantasia, I want it since it's not the crappy re-recorded version America got)

Um ... I can assure you the European Fantasia still dubs over Deems Tailor's vocals. I know because I have it, along with the Region 1 release. Stick to Region 1. At least that DVD is a little more 'uncut' than Region 2 and has slightly better video quality (as well as DTS).
the korean black cauldron is the remastered anamorphic version like the french edition. u better get ur hands on it quick.last time when triwit buy it for me, theyre almost out of stock.....and it comes with a slipcover

That's interesting though, I have the VHS and recorded the audio... I thought I'd get a static-free one from the European DVD but thanks for letting me know... there's no option to view it with Deems Taylor's voice?
(So the only way to get the original voice, even though it's not uncut, is VHS or laserdisc?)
And akhenaten, I'm gonna get it later this week, the site I have bookmarked says in stock so it should be fine.
Can I assume Korean Pinocchio is the same master as the UK one?
all the pinocchio with the black cover should be...and my r3 dvd has a korean audio option so im pretty sure its the same one..complete with all the bonus features...and a horrific non pinocchio related music for the menu.
as for fantasia..i thought footages with the original deems taylor audio are lost..or damaged?

Yes, supposedly. I know it sounds confusing but the Region 2 UK DVD release somehow still dubs over Taylor's lines. It would make sense for the dubbing to occur for the Region 1 release, as some video elements with Taylor had no audio, hence they had to redub the whole film. But with Region 2 there really was no point in dubbing over. Anyway, make sure you don't get it because it'll only be a waste of money! As you said, the original Deems Taylor narration is probably only available on VHS and Laserdisc.
akhenaten, do you have a link to the site selling the remastered Black Cauldron (and do they ship to Malta)? I've been wanting that DVD for ages! I'm sick of my faded GC release!
Now that Pinocchio has been released on PE DVD, any chance you might be able to upload the exact same pictures as at the beginning of the thread, but with the pictures from that DVD included here?
