I dunno about this. I love that Beauty and the Beast had a score that reminded us of the romantic period of music. It also had some fun french flair, and a show tuney style, but the sequences like the death of the beast on the tower, as well as the prologue are very intimate, deep and rich! The Mermaid score is similar in the sweet moments but has a more lively and less serious score when there's trouble brewin etc. Aladdin's score was dark and Arabic, but there was also lots of happy orchestral parts like the track called "The Kiss". Hunchback had an even darker score that was loud, rich and ominous.PrincePhillipFan wrote:Rapunzel will be released in the Holiday Season 2010, as for the music it will be a kind of Rock of the 60s, in the veins of Joni Mitchell and Cat Stevens. It's still too early for speaking, but the film is at a good point...
I think if Menken is goin with 60's rock, we'll be getting lots of 12/8 steady chord music like we heard in Little Shop, or even A.L.W.'s Jesus Christ Superstar. I'm not too familiar with Hairspray but I think it will be similar to that and maybe Grease (more so the 50's..)
I'll keep an open mind I guess! I hope some demo's leak

Apparently I missed your post from when you originally posted it, and I always check this thread...Anyway, sure, Disney went in the more-rock area with Tarzan and sort of with Brother Bear, but I am skeptical! I mean, I have nothing against Joni Mitchell and Cat Stevens, but I'm just shocked and don't fully believe it!PrincePhillipFan wrote: Rapunzel will be released in the Holiday Season 2010, as for the music it will be a kind of Rock of the 60s, in the veins of Joni Mitchell and Cat Stevens. It's still too early for speaking, but the film is at a good point...

Rapunzel
Disney Jedi, we think they are still doing that CGI looking more like hand-drawn animation and Fragonard paintings.
I would be okay with a 60's rock mentality, sound, or something from the style, but I hope it still sounds like it could have been done with the instruments in the times of fairy tales and royalty, wherever they decide to set this fairy tale. I would like some German location, because the tale is German, though Fragonard, who is influencing the painted look, is French!
Hey, did you know?: The book "Walt Disney and Europe" noted that the gardens and "dripping foliage" in Disney's Cinderella looked inspired by French Fragonard's paintings! I guess Rapunzel will be another Disney fairy tale using his art.

Julian just wanted to emphasize the many reworkings the film has undergone.Marky_198 wrote:Julian, what do you mean by the "563rd retooling?"

Fixed.~RapunzelTower~ wrote:I found this new Concept Art for Rapunzel on the net. The castle is definitely inspired by the famous german "Neuschwanstein Castle"which could mean that the story is set in Germany, where it actually belongs.

Nit-picking aside, excellent find! It really looks pretty. In some ways, it seems like a mix of Cinderella's village and castle, Snow White's castle, Sleeping Beauty's castle and It's a Small World. Oh wait, that's because they all have the same influence.

I think your English is pretty good! If I were you I'd now focus on acquiring a wider range of vocabulary. Sometimes you need to know a lot of synonyms to be able to write properly and not sound repetitive.Marky_198 wrote:Thank you guys
I've never heard of that saying. I asked it because I want to improve my English as much as I can.
