Toy Story
Toy Story
I was thinking about looking for Toy Story I and II on ebay, etc. to add to my growing collection, but got to thinking. I don't want to get it now if in the not too distant future there would be a new special edition coming out. I know the movie is fairly old, in dvd terms and wonder if it is anywhere near a re-release? Anyone have an knowledge or skuttlebut?

Hi. I don't think anyone knows anything for sure, but I would venture to say that there will not be a release of this for at least 2 years. The official moratorium (sp?) time for Disney movies is 5 years. However, this might not be the case for the TS flicks. It probably depends a little on DIsney/Pixar relations (though not much), and a lot on when Toy Story 3 comes out. But unless you want to go several years before seeing it, I would recommend buying it now. But beware! I bought TS on eBay and it was a bootleg (albeit very authentic-looking one... I didn't realize it for a long time). Also, don't pay too much for it! Browse around on Half.com and eBay until you find a reasonable price from a reputable seller. It *might* be cheaper to buy these two films individually rather than in a set on eBay, unless you happen to find a good deal or if you really want the Ultimate Toy Box. Hope this helps, and feel free to ask around for another opinion.
