Is there a blu-fanboy somewhere that actually cares about the missing lines and the fact it's not the original soundtrack and they've put "when you wish upon a star" newly together which can be heard?
For me it takes away the viewing fun as I want to have the original timings, lines, etc.
But they don't? They don't care about the original?

Anybody else got the Pinocchio marinette puppet at the Disney Store? I am SOO glad I did because I always wanted a Pinocchio Puppet but there were never really any made from what I saw. I did a search on google and a few other ones that weren't the Disney version and the new plush at the Disney Store (Which I got two of them lol) only came up. Also the marinette is VERY exclusive because only 500 were made. I my # was 216. The price I believe was a little high $199.99 plus tax LOL. HOWEVER, I did not pay that much THANK GOD! I only $136.50 for the marinette. The reason was because the Pinocchio Exclusive stuff at the Disney Store is 25% off. Plus the lady at the register gave me a 15% coupon for free! That was SOO nice of her. I can also get a price adjustment within seven days but the price hasn't gone down yet and today is the last day. I guess I cannot complain lol. I am VERY glad I bought it though. I know me, I would have regretted it later on.
I had a Pinocchio marionette back in 1992. It was made for the theatrical rerelease. I played with it so much that it got tangled beyond fixing and was eventually thrown away. However, that one probably didn't cost more than $20.
well this one is the real deal lol. It's made from very good wood and it is very heavy. It isn't like cheap stuff. The marinette is just like the one in the movie. It's awesome! I love it.

I'm a hardcore blu ray fan and it was the first time I saw Pinoch so I wasn't blinded by nostalgia to even care...

Probably the 2048x1536 resolution my monitor was running at... I haven't used a computer that used resolutions as low as that of DVD since my 486 days .

I agree with your thoughts on Pinocchio. I prefer Snow White over Pinocchio as well. Both have amazing animation and great songs, and both stories are great.....but where Pinocchio falls short in my opinion is in the way the story flows. I always felt this movie would have benefited from some editing! Some parts of the movie drug on longer then they should of....like the clock and music box sequences which went on much longer then needed and stahled the pace of the story and didnt contribute anything to the picture. I do love Pinocchio flaws and all and continue to be amazed that something so great came out of the 1940s and holds up SO WELL today!
I think the film would expect people to know the story, which is why the clocks and music box(My favorite part!) was extended so long: because people already know he comes to life, and it's fun to see him lifeless like that, too.
I'm not going to say which I prefer, Snow White or Pinocchio because they are very different films. Whilst I think that Pinocchio has a stronger narrative, Snow White offers more of an emotional response.
I personally think that Snow White can get a little boring and that its animation is somewhat bothersome (whilst Pinocchio's is somehow great), meanwhile I sometimes get disgusted at the horrible things that occur in Pinocchio. If I have to choose betwen the two, I usually go for Dumbo instead.

It would have been even better had they had a scene where Gepetto gets swallowed...that really just made the movie feel awkward without it.
