Which if you read what I wrote, is exactly what I said.
"We already know what Platinum's to expect through the end of 2010" (which is "Beauty and the Beast").
I've always thought that Dumbo should've been in the PE line from the get-go. It's not just my favorite DAC but it has very popular characters that everyone knows and it has always had great VHS & DVD sales. I think Dumbo deserves a 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray, I would buy the Blu-ray in a heartbeat!
I love Hunchback but I highly doubt it will be added to the PE line. I could actually see them adding Pocahontas to the line before Hunchback.
As it looks, Aladdin has been eliminated from the PE line. I still hope in the future we get an emmersive 2-disc Blu-ray! We all can hope!
Walmart: the perfect place to shop for a headache at a discount price.
I still think that they should have shorter time frames in which they put them back into the vault like Snow White and Beauty and the Beast. It makes them seem a bit more presitgious, and when they mean limited time they mean it!

I think it was only 3 months right?
What you are saying is that Snow White and Beauty and the Beast should be available only for 3 months, right?
Any good news with Dumbo I believe can be taken as true. Dumbo came out on DVD BEFORE John's seat at Disney, so he had no say in it. Being his most favorite Disney film, it is very likely he was pissed at the treatment Disney gave it for the 2006 release so now he is going to make sure it gets its respect next time!
But John is not head of PR & marketing. He oversees production of films, but not release. Or does he actually have a say in what goes in the platinum line?
I mean, John COULD have some say in this, I guess, but it seems pretty unlikely, and less likely that he's going to be spearheading some personal campaign for this release.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"

Maybe that's the problem. If there was someone that actually knows and understands and is linked somehow to a Disney movie ou various Classics, maybe we didn't get for example, some upgrades where the only new bonus features is some game or some song. There would be good reissues, instead of 3 or 4 with no point of reissuing in a year, maybe the 2 platinums and 1 more 2-disc..... i'd rather wait.
Both Hunchback and Lilo had annouced 2 disc releases. Maybe there going to be releasing that 2 disc of Hunchback I the next few years. This looks lke a good posibilty to me conserding the 2 disc Lilo is coming out like next week.

That would be great, but since I doubt it's being added to the Platinum Edition line, it would be nice to see it before 2012, as the website indicated.

I don't care what they're labeling the release as, but it's nice that Disney's going to revisit The Rescuers and The Hunchback of Notre Dame on DVD again. The DVDs for Aladdin and Pocahontas are excellent as is, although I'd love for more stills/concept art to be included for Aladdin, along with the additional deleted songs. Hopefully Aladdin won't have the audio edits anymore (the line-change in "Arabian Nights" and the "good kitty, take off and go" line removed from balcony scene).

I don't know whether to believe this or not. Wikipedia can be a little tricky at times. That page also said that "The Black Cauldron" was coming to Blu-ray which is highly unlikely. If this is true, AWESOME!! I've never seen The Rescuers and I refuse to buy the DVD since it's apparently a really bad transfer. I'm not really a fan of Pocahontas, but whatever. Haha.
What I would like to know is why Snow White has been changed to "Diamond Edition" on the upcoming release page on this very site and nothing has been mentioned on the front page about such a change.
The change makes perfect sense (as I've been saying for years), because having two "Platinum Editions" is completely nonsensical. Re-releasing Platinums as Diamonds is a great marketing ploy to make it seem like the discs are an improvement over the last set (whether they are or aren't).
I shall remain skeptical till the front page confirms anything on the other releases, but if they are coming I'm super stoked.
While I'm taking all this with a barrel of salt, I'm hoping to God we see Blu-ray editions of all these released sooner rather than later, especially Hunchback and Aladdin. Like Albert, I don't care what they're called. I stopped caring about uniformity in my DAC collection probably around 2002 or 2003. Nowadays, I'm just happy to have the films in the highest quality possible with decent extras. I won't mind at all if Disney makes the Aladdin and Pocahontas BDs clones of the DVDs (and likewise for Hunchback and its LD). The only release I'm pushing for new extras is Alice because that's one of the few Walt-era films that has zero modern perspective in its supplements (outside of the Kathy Beaumont intros).
