"In an early announcement to retailers, MGM Home Entertainment in conjunction with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment have revealed that they will bring the Mel Brooks comedy 'Spaceballs' to Blu-ray on June 16th. No technical specs have been announced at this time, but you can expect to see 1080p AVC video accompanied by a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack."

I will avoid this, because it was not filmed originally in hi-def and it will suffer the same things that "Face/Off", "The Patriot", and several other recent releases of older films does.

The Special Edition of "Spaceballs" looks fantastic unconverted on my Blu-Ray player. I will save my money for some of the other 'good' things that will be coming out later this month and in April.

I demand that George Lucas-Brooks update this with new special effects, and replace the dated "Spaceballs: The Video" scene with "Spaceballs: The Blu-Ray"!!

I can't stand this movie at all. This will be a pass for me. To be as monosyllabic as possible: it wasn't funny!

I think I will stick with my 2-Disc Collector's Edition DVD. Besides, this is not Mel Brooks' best work (though it did have its moments).

I'm still waiting for Yogurt's merchandising department to release Spaceballs: The Flamethrower. :D

May the Schwartz be with you. 8)

"The kids love this one."

I probably want upgrade to the Blu-ray for this unless the price is right. I'm happy with the DVD I have right now.

You're kidding, right? Film has a far greater quality than HD does. Face/Off was heavily DNR'ed. I don't know about The Patriot, but it could be the same.
