The fact that they're re-doing The Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis, and Singin' in the Rain makes me giddy. The That's Entertainment Blu-ray box set features clips from the latest restorations of these films, and I was stunned at how gorgeous they looked. If WB considers that unsuitable for BD, I'm ridiculously excited at what's in store for me when I pop in the actual BDs for them respectively. I'm also really looking forward to Ben-Hur, A Star is Born, and North by Northwest. I have to admit I'm a bit disappointing that A Star is Born isn't coming till 2010, though. I figured it'd be ready for the end of this year.

Thanks for posting. That was a very good article and shows that certain studios care what they foist on the consumer.

I am going to just be jumping for joy when "North By Northwest" comes out, and hope that eventually they will bring all of the great MGM musicals out in Blu-Ray. It is amazing to see what they look like in the "That's Entertainment" Blu-Ray discs, and if those are before the restoration process I say bring it on. It is going to be well worth the wait.

:D
