I love the 1999 remake!!! I liked the original when I was very young, but as I grew, the original just didn't hold my interest anymore. I remember when the 1999 version premiered, and I fell in love with it! The pacing of the original is too slow, and I feel like there are lots of scenes in it that were just there just to open the story up for the big screen. The remake has a faster pace, great choreography, and I liked Kathy Bates' portrayal of Miss Hannigan better than Ms. Burnett's. I feel like Ms. Burnett's Hannigan was nothing but a drunk.

Yeah, but for me it got really annoying after a while. I'm sorry, but I'm just being honest. I don't hate Carol Burnett.JiminyCrick91 wrote:Well that was kinda the point in THAT version of the film.tsom wrote: I liked Kathy Bates' portrayal of Miss Hannigan better than Ms. Burnett's. OMG! I saw the broadway on tour version of Annie last night live.
See www.annieontour.com (if I can post that).
I've decided that the 1999 Disney version IS my favorite of the bunch. However, watching the official broadway version last night - I have to laugh at how Disney Disney-fied the play.
A) Making the part of Grace be a black woman (though I love the way she plays that part)
B) Taking the whole song about Herbert Hoover out (heaven forbid Disney viewers should see someone speaking ill about a president)
C) Having Miss Hannigan NOT be a drunk
D) Taking out the majority of the swear words
I really enjoyed it last night and wish it wasn't so far and few times that I get to see it live. See if it's coming to your town!
