Adam & Steve...very funny and very romantic!
Parker Posey was hilarious.
Loved the scenes where Adam & Steve met each other's parents!
And I loved Ths Sound Of Music reference!

This weekend I watched:

My recently purchased Disney dvd's of: Ichabod and mr. Toad and The Sword in the Stone
By the way, did you know that in Holland TSITS is entitled " Merlijn de tovenaar" or in English translation "Merlin the wizard"? I don't know why it was not translated as "Het zwaard in het aanbeeld"; probably they wanted to put the emhasis on this funny character. :P

The swimmingpool English thrillerwriter with a writersblock moves temporarily into a villa in France belonging to her publisher. There she is unexpectily confronted with the daughter of her publisher. The movie involves lots of sex and a murder. Lots of questions remain after you've seen this one.
Halfway the movie (was aired on TV) the sound went off... lucklily it had subtitles.

Well, here in Germany "The Sword in the stone" is calles "Die Hexe und der Zauberer"" which would translate to "The witch and the wizard".

I watched Cinderella yesterday, which used to be one of my favorite movies when I was little and I still like it a lot. I watched it on my new TV for the first time and I thought the restoration looked beautiful.

Confessions of a Sociapathic Social-Climber - This was a movie that premeired on the Oxygen Channel in 2004. It starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and Joey Lawrence (BMW!). It was rated R, but could EASILY have passed for PG-13. Hell, if they cut out some of the swear words it could have been PG. Anyway, I liked it, and reccomend it to all of her fans (coughChriscough).

Just picked up a couple of Blu-Ray titles that I had to watch immediately and was not disappointed.

Payback - The Straight-Up Edition - 4/5. This is the total reworking of the original "Payback" movie, and features a lot of reshot sequences, and has been edited to a better flow and, in my opinion, a much better movie.

Days of Thunder 3.5/5. This movie was never available in a full anamorphic release and on a HDTV it looks like the old widescreen movie from years ago with a ton of unused screen (black bars), so when I found this at CD Tradepost for only $9.99 I decided it was time to upgrade. The Blu-Ray version is like watching a totally brand-new movie. Robert Duvall, Randy Quaid and Tom Cruise make this a very watchable, but dated, motion picture.

:D
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

I was also a little surprised to find that movie better than I expected it to be. Most people just kind of think disaster whenever Jennifer Love Hewitt is connected to something. Which is why she's firmly in-place on her own TV show right now. She's definitely a sweetheart in the movie business and deserves her success. But I absolutely dispise the way she looks on this new show of hers. Oddly, she just looked so much better as a sex symbol doing cruddy slasher films in the 90's.

Yeah, I haven't seen Ghost Whisperer yet, but I've been meaning to.

The Nanny Diaries - This was really good! I haven't seen many Scarlett Johansenn films, but now I want to. I was laughing a lot throughout this movie, and Laura Linney did an excellent job, as usual.

Do you also, like me, enjoy the Dutch version with Lex Goudsmit as Merlin better?

Last film I watched:
Scoop

After Match Point, I thought this would be another excellent collaboration between Woody Harrelson and Scarlett Johansson... WRONG! This 'comedy' is terribly unfunny, and Harrelson gets on my nerves after only 5 minutes. Even Scarlett couldn't save this drivel.

A) I like Scoop but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Usually I choose the original English version when I put up a Disney dvd, this one was no exception. But sometimes I switch to another language for a while just for fun. Maybe I will do it next time I watch SITS.

Fun fact: In addition to the standard English, French and Dutch my Huncback of Notre Dame dvd can play Flemish, Polish, Tsjech, Hungarian and Slovakian in dolby surround 2.0
You don't find that so often on a BENELUX versions! But I suppose your copy has that to Goliath? (Unless you have one imported from England, or none at all)

AAAAARGGGHH! I can't believe I'm making that mistake *again*! :x

I hold Harrelson in very high regard; he's a very good actor. It's Allen who got on my nerves!

Yes, I also prefer the original English version for most Disney films. But, besides SitS, I make an exception for Robin Hood and The Great Mouse Detective. I know these movies by heart, I can literally talk along line for line with the Dutch versions.

I haven't got Hunchback on dvd yet. I'm still holding out for a 2-disc release. I was also waiting for a 2-disc release of Pocahontas, but then I discovered there was one in the US, but not in Holland. :x

I saw Coraline in 3D Tuesday. I thought it was a weird, dark but still entertaining movie. Probably the first good animated movie of 2009. I may buy it when it comes out on Blu-Ray.

A two-disc edition of Pocahontas is also available in the U.K. If you have a credit card you can order it through amazon. co.uk. I did.

Yesterday I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in the cinema. Having read both positive and negative comments about this movie I was prepared to be dissapointed, but I wasn't. I felt really touched by this unusual story and I'm still thinking of it.

I watched High School Musical 3: Senior Year earlier today. I cried more watching it in the privacy of my own home than I did in the theater. I'm just so attached to those characters, it's hard to see them graduate, I guess. And I feel for Troy and Gabriella...and if you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about, and if you haven't, then I'm not going to spoil it for you!

(If you're wondering why I have the DVD early, it's because I'm doing interviews for UD.)

The Manchurian Candidate (2004)

I haven't seen the original movie (but because that's about 'communist infiltration' I don't expect it to like it), but this one is great. I like conspiracy thrillers like this one. Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep were amazing in their roles. Clever screenplay. Could 'Manchurian Global' stand for Blackwater or Halliburton?

I've watched about 25 movies the last 5 days or so to list them all would take time and energy which I don't have at the moment but to sum it up:

All of them were rather meh, good enough to pass an hour or two but nothing spectacular out of the lot. Then again I didn't pay much attention to them considering I was playing WoW and only stopped to fully watch while flying :P Woot for portable dvd players so that I can multitask.
