LOS ANGELES - Singer Chris Brown was arrested and charged with making criminal threats on Sunday for an early morning attack on an unidentified woman widely thought to be his girlfriend, pop star Rihanna. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the woman in the incident is Rihanna.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Rihanna was “reportedly hospitalized with bruises on her face.”
Los Angeles police officer Karen Smith says Brown walked into a station around 7 p.m. and was being interviewed by detectives. He released on $50,000 bail, according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement.
Police booked the 19-year-old R&B singer and dancer on suspicion of making a criminal threat, a felony. Police did not explain how their initial report of an injury assault related to the charge, but it will ultimately be up to the district attorney’s office to decide what charges, if any, should be brought against Brown.
Police say the singer and a woman were in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood at around 12:30 a.m. PT Sunday when they began arguing, and the argument escalated when they got out of the car.
“After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated,” the police said. “The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker.”
Police received a 911 call reporting the disturbance and according to the statement, when officers arrived they found the victim, but Brown had already left the scene.

Both Brown and Rihanna were no-shows for Sunday night’s Grammy Awards. Both were nominated and scheduled to perform.
Brown, who broke onto the Billboard charts at the age of 16 with his hit single “Run It” and sold 2 million copies of his self-titled debut album, also scored a pair of hits on his sophomore effort, “Exclusive,” in 2007.
Barbados-born Rihanna also released her debut album in 2005 and had a number one hit single with “SOS” less than a year later. She followed with three more number ones: “Umbrella,” “Take a Bow” and “Disturbia.”
She won a 2007 Grammy Award for her single “Umbrella,” a collaboration with the rapper Jay-Z.
WOW, that is sooo crazy! No one would believe Chris Brown to do such a thing like that. He is gonna lose a lot of his fans. I hope Rihanna gets well soon.

I know, but he just didn't seem like someone who would do that. It's a shame, I was maybe gonna give his albums a chance and maybe go out and buy one, but now there's absolutely no chance of that happening.
I've never been a fan of Chris Brown's (but I do like his song...I can't think of the name of it and I'm too lazy to look it up, but the one David Archuleta covered on "American Idol"...), but as I like to say... my CB > this CB. My CB being Corbin Bleu, of course. HE wouldn't beat up and bite a woman. Unless you were his woman and you wanted him to beat you up and bite you. And even then, I don't know what his thoughts about that would be....

True story.
You tell it like it is, sister!

Your missing the point. Just because he doesn't SEEM like someone who would do that doesn't mean he wouldn't. Completley random example, Michael Myers (original halloween) at the start of the movie seems like a nice, normal young kid but that didn't stop him from stabbing his sister to death, not to mention dozens more people over the course of the sequels
The only thing I'm surprised by is how so many people are like, "Do you think it was Rhianna's fault?" What the hell--are we back in the time where it's the woman's fault if her man gets abusive?

I think that one was "With You."
I also thought he sounded good with Jordin Sparks on their duet, but I'm not really a R&B fan so I've never bought anything of his.
Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Yeah, that's the one, thanks! I also like "No Air"...I forgot about that one; I guess I think of that being more Jordin's song, since it's on her album.

Ew, why would you ever turn MTV on??
(See, Luke? This smiley comes in handy!)

You know, anyone who says Chris Brown beat Rihanna is racist! I bet you it was a white man that hit her and her WHITE publicist are trying to cover it up and are saying CB hit her!
Aw, I miss papibear.

This is sad news. I'm not really a Hip-Hop fan, but Chris Brown seemed to have a lot of potential. He was a good singer, a good performer, and released hit songs that were exceptionally clean. I guess it just goes to show you that a celebrity's squeaky-clean public image isn't always a reality.

Exactly what I thought. Today I was out and I was driving and an announcer came on saying something like "Chris Brown free radio station! We've banned all of his records!" I was in shock because it's the first radio station in my area that has banned Chris Brown.
