Agreed. However, I do want to say - 10 Things was totally posing when it came to the sister being a fan of Bikini Kill. I'm sorry, but a true Bikini Kill fan wouldn't love a band that sounded like the one she went to the club to listen to. If she was supposed to be the antithesis of all the Jennifer Love Hewitt types, why is she listening to a song it sounds like Hewitt would have performed herself?!

you are seriously missing out. The single most satisfying action-thriller I've ever seen in my life. Highly intelligent, excessively violent and gruesome, dark yet fun.

If "gory" and "scary" are detractors for you, given that this is not a horror film... well, have you seen R-rated movies before? If you have, then you can probably handle it.

It's intense, yes. It's violent, yes. As for gore- there isn't much splattering blood (this is not Kill Bill, don't worry), and only a short sequence with internal organs exposed. Hardly counts as gore.

Yes, I have seen R rated films, but the list I've seen consists of films like Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Love Actually, etc.

I've seen two R rated films that star Reese Witherspoon, which are Election and Cruel Intentions. If I could handle those could I handle Freeway?

I think we were supposed to list movies "Other than Disney" for this thread so I picked a couple of really good films in my opinion:

One False Move (1991) - Top notch thriller with a really good cast featuring Billy Bob Thornton, Bill Paxton and Cynda Williams. "R-rated" for strong violence, language and drug content. A very good movie.

Open Range (2003) - Great western starring Kevin Costner, Robert Duvall and Annette Bening. Kevin Costner showed how much he has learned from other actor-director's in Directing this movie. It is beautifully photographed, and the dialogue is perfect for the time.

Appaloosa (2008) - Another great western, this time written and directed by Ed Harris, who also stars in this film with Viggo Mortensen and Renee Zellweger, along with Jeremy Irons playing a real evil bad guy.

Remaking Tron would be like remaking The Wizard of Oz with Miley Cyrus as Dorothy.

Sshhh!!! There is rumors afloat that this is the next big remake scheduled by the Disney studios. Read in Variety magazine they are considering the film because of its age, and the modern day technology would liven it up and modernize its story. And, yes, Miley Cyrus is mentioned as the possible person to play Dorothy.

And I still think that "Tron" needs to be remade because of its age, and the special effects of that period are wearing thin when watched on a HD TV.

Well, have you ever seen an action film or a thriller? And, have you ever seen really nasty Reality-TV? You can handle Freeway if you've followed any of those reality tv shows with girls slapping each other and getting into fights. Strangely enough, Freeway is less trashy than they are.

So, I watched Bandslam last night, and I love the High School Musical films and Camp Rock. I probably should see Fame since I like that genre, right? Are there any similar movies about making music that I should check out? Probably That Thing You Do!, too?
