UPDATE:

I knew at the beginning that this project was going to be way too much for me to have to take on. I have to clear my schedule completely. And if I get the time back again, I'll pick this up, I promise. But for now, I just can't make time.

Presenting...

I'm starting a new thread, all about me, going crazy. I call it..., what you see in the title above. Not really- I'm launcing a gimmick-project where I will be watching at least One New Movie Every Day, That I've Never Seen Before or Don't Remember Very Well. And posting some portion of my experience right here, in this thread. Don't Delete It- NOOOO! (I obviously thought that was amusing, and that's sad)

My goal is to watch 2 movies every day, even though that will be long and arduous. I could always stand to watch more movies. And every day will be a new kind of movie!

Starting today:

Monday = Comedy
Tuesday = Action / War / Westerns
Wednesday = Drama / Classic
Thursday = Science-Fiction / Fantasy
Friday = Horror / Foreign / Exploitation
Saturday = Family / Animation
Sunday = Musicals or Documentary

The object of the game is to guess whether this will cause me to lose my mind or become a happier, gentler person. :D Are you ready?

Now, I have to choose a bunch of movies to put on my mission-statement list. To watch for the week (a lot of these are random picks based on availability of movie):

If I can watch 5 movies in one day (Forbidden Planet, Them!, The Time Machine (1960), Logan's Run, War of the Worlds (1953)) you can watch 2 a day for a week. Good luck (and you picked some good ones so you shouldn't go insane too quickly)!

Comedy-Monday

Feature #1:

(Sorry about the huge-ass size of these pics, but, I'm trying to go for a Movie-Poster-In-The-Lobby-of the Theater Building feel, like a marquee or something... / I like it)

Everything that is any good about this movie is all Steve Carrell. And yeah, it says it's Dan, so it's all about him. But, it's about his relationship to several really boring, pretentious, and often irritating people. Dane Cook is thankfully subdued here, but he still has an embarrassingly cliched singing in-front-of-others scene. What this movie is, is really just Meet the Parents (the guy who can't do anything right, is keeping secrets, and has a large group of people who are consistently shocked at him) done with a more classy cast and setting and story, and with a family-romance. Also, the movie is really insulting in its' portrayal of the daughters. And really out of date in its' portrayal of kids. Except for how adorable and charming Carrell is, all of this is painfully cliche and boring. Sometimes it's smart, but usually it's anything but cute. And only one scene is truly funny. It could have been much better. I can't recommend it at all. I certainly hope you didn't have to pay $8 to see this in the theater.

I agree! I'm excited to hear your thoughts on films not in the horror genre! :P

Well, I watched over 300 movies last year (although only 7 so far this year,) and one day I watched 7 during October...

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) / ANoES 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) / ANoES 3: Dream Warriors (1987) / ANoES 4: The Dream Master (1988) / ANoES 5: The Dream Child (1989) / Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991) / Alien Apocalypse (2005) - The last one was over at a friend's house, and I probably stayed out there until 2-3 in the morning.

I've found it gets hard to watch a movie every single day, especially with job/school (depending on what you have,) other interests, and just general life stuff.

My mom was laid off, and I've been taking her to a lot of doctors' appointments, so that cuts into it. Plus, if I take any time to play a game, that takes a lot. We've been watching a lot of TV on DVD, and I am on my 11th season of the year (about 185 episodes or so.)

Good luck, and keep us posted!

I'm looking forward to the 'All About Eve' review. I watched that again not too long ago.

My schedule has been knocked off a little bit. Another project set me back. So my 2nd feature for Monday will be watched today, but I will be offline until tomorrow, so I'll have to post my other Monday tomorrow as well as both Tuesdays.

UPDATE (Tuesday): More schedule conflicts have eliminated the 2nd Monday Comedy altogether.

Next Monday :
