Thanks for uploading it Disney Villain!

I am extremely excited about the prospect of the infamous deleted scenes being included on this set. However, at the same time, I'm very suspicious. It seems like we're getting this too easy. Disney's rarely just straight out done something controversial that many of the non-child fans want them to do, so I can't help but suspect we'll get something stupid like a story-board of the deleted song.

On another note, I really don't like the new logo. It's very unbalanced, and there's too much empty space to the upper right. It looks like a cheap photoshop job. Anyone else notice this?

Even though I am 100% blu-ray at this point, I will have to double-dip on this (unless they announce a blu-ray version before this one is released) The picture quality looks great and I am officially excited.

Judging by the trailer, I would say this is only going to be a 1-disc set. I would assume if it were a 2-discer it would've said.

I rented Magic Gourd yesturday with a friend. We havn't watched the film yet but we watched The Black Cauldron trailer 3 times. Needless to say we're pretty excited!

I think the logo is really awkward though. I think the text should be written on one line and the whole thing thinned out.

It looks to be restored a little, which is a lot more than I expected. The most exciting thing about this release for me is that it's going to have some deleted scenes.

Well thanks still, disneystars.

I like the logo a lot, except the way the words are positioned, you're right that needs to be fixed somehow...more in the middle maybe?

I would have assumed that long before the trailer. Though there are many avid fans here at UD, it is most certainly one of the less popular Disney titles.

In a way it kind of surprises me that the trailer isn't included on the Mary Poppins and Oliver DVDs, but then again it doesn't. Maybe it'll be included on Lilo! It looks like Disney is only going to put this preview on Gourd for now. It'll probably be on Space Buddies since that movie is geared more towards boys.

Believe me, thats the only thing we'll be getting. You think Disney is going to release fully animated deleted scenes with people's skins falling off, or a partially nude Eilowny? Don't think so...

Well ya never know. But if Disney decides to screw us over, I will not be too happy. Believe me, if there's one thing that I hate, it's being screwed over. :x

Partially nude Eilonwy has never been confirmed. Skin falling off? yes we've seen a pic of the cell. The movie is clearly rated PG and is not being marketed as a happy go lucky cute animal, princess laden pink and sunshine piece of fluff. Lot's of 80s fantasy movies have been criticized for begin scary and yet have been released for families to buy quite easily now. I think kids today could handle it and it's too easy for Disney to simply slap the fully finished scenes on a disc and hype the significance of them being included (vs. scanning several storyboards, adding new dialogue and music etc for multiple scenes). I'm also sure Disney is well aware that the film's main lovers are us hard core Disney fans who want to see this kind of stuff and they aren't going to win over the soccer moms with this obscure and not very well liked title. My guess is that Disney is doing the bare minimum to please the fan base well spending as little as they can to max out the potential $$.

Besides you see Lorie stark naked in Oklahoma! and that got a G rating. Considering her age I doubt Eilonwy if ever shown partially nude would be presented in an overly sexual way (she's like 14 for cryin' out loud) and it probably was just her skirt getting torn in one scene which some lack of continuity would cover in the next one.

Not to mention that Ariel was completely naked, save for the seashell bra after Ursula transformed her into a human in The Little Mermaid. Though nothing was really shown, except for her butt partially.

But that aside, I agree with you. Hardcore fans have been waiting long enough for the cut scenes to come around. Besides, this could just be it!

Actually you can see the frontal outline of her lower half as well. :p

She was 15 and a shameless self promoter (or maybe her dad is for he?) instead of a cartoon characterization of a respectable princess (whom I doubt voluntarily got partially nude IF she did).

I've only seen The Black Cauldron a few times, though I've read the first book in the series (The Book of Three,) and it was pretty good. I remember Princess Eiwonly being my favorite, followed by Hen-Wen and Gurgi. I was never really scared by it, though I can definitley see why some are.

Thanks Disney Villain! Wow, looks good. I'll definitely be double dipping, actually I may replace the Gold Collection one entirely.

Black Cauldron was the very first new-release Disney animated movie I saw on the big screen. (The very first movie I saw in theaters was The Jungle Book in it's early 80s re-release)

I thought that the preview for TBC would be on Space Buddies, but it isn't. Looks like Disney is making this not well known (big surprise  ) by putting it on very few and not well known releases. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if they didn't put it on Pinocchio.
