You nailed it.BrianG wrote:I'm not too fond of it either. The Snow White "problem", IMO, is that in the movie and older posters her face was more full. She wasn't fat or anything but she had full cheeks. The new Snow White cover looks like she got a Hollywood facelift or something.

The Wicked Queen on the ghastly new DVD/Blu Ray cover art looks as if the Disney artists have tried to combine the Wicked Queen's head and high collar , with the Witch or Peddler Woman's black cowl costume.
Off subject whilst I quite liked the Sleeping Beauty Blu Ray cover I regret that Disney failed to use Maleficent herself on the cover opting instead for her guise as the Dragon!

OKAY, i'm not really feelin this cover. Although i do like the concept.
i think Snow White ought to be inside the mirror instead of infront of it. She should also be holding the apple. Move the dwarves and have them line the bottom of the cover (don't like them all piled up on the side - too much like the original PE cover)
Elevate the prince up abit, add in the huntsman on the opposite side. Slightly re-draw the queen and have her hands clasping the top of the mirror. Her robes should also flow down the sides of the cover. Lastly change the colouring. I think the skin tones are a tad too yellow.

Snow Whiteoholic here again , I think that the Witch/Peddler Woman should have a central role in the cover art - after all it is she who gives the poisoned "Magic Wishing Apple" to Snow White in the first place. Apparently Disney originally was going to use all three of the Queen/Witch's attempts on Snow White's life , as tabulated in the original Grimms Fairy Tales version of Snow White and the final titles logo shows the Poisoned Comb with strands of Snow White's hair!

Zoom in? Do you honestly believe I want to see this piece of crap in greater detail?Disneykid wrote:The Queen's right hand (our left) has the pinky finger covered by her ring finger, but you can see the fingernail underneath. Her left hand (our right) also still has the pinky, but that one seems to have gotten caught in the fadeout. If you zoom in on the image, you can see these.

But seriously, even at the smaller size I feel it should read better.

Snow White Blu-ray Cover
!!! How do you know all that? And how can I see these...final titles? Do you mean in the end of the movie when the book closes or...in the credits before the film opens?Deco King wrote:Apparently Disney originally was going to use all three of the Queen/Witch's attempts on Snow White's life , as tabulated in the original Grimms Fairy Tales version of Snow White and the final titles logo shows the Poisoned Comb with strands of Snow White's hair!
Also, I like the idea of the queen transforming into the peddler woman. They could maker her robes turn into the long sleeves and have the gray inside, and maybe make her hands the wrinkled, claw-like ones of the hag.
Snow White probably should be holding that apple, and yes, maybe inside the mirror, like Enchantment said.

While I'm finally convinced (though I never really doubted) that Blu-ray picture is better, I must agree the cases are ugly. DVD cases looked more book-ish to me which matches my many, many books in my room. They also equaled the color and size of my PS2, Wii, and GameCube game cases.
Blu-ray cases are not only a totally different color and rounded in shape but also a different size that just look out-of-place next to other DVD and game cases as well as as my squared-off books.

You could just put them somewhere else.

Haha, yeah! the horse is the only thing that works on the cover.PeterPanfan wrote:The cover is decent, though I think the designer spent more time making the horse than the dwarfs.
On reflection, I would've been happier with simply the queen stood infront of the magic mirror and her reflection merely being the witch guise. Simple, yet effective.

After considering the Snow White Cover Art - I think that the Seven Dwarfs should be more prominent in the design. They along with Snow White are the stars of the show - seven distinct little personalities who are being pushed to one side by Disney pushing Snow White as part of the Disney Princesses franchise!
Maybe a new "take" on the famous Gustav Tenggren poster might be a good idea as it features all the characters including the Witch, Wicked Queen and Huntsman!
