I'm usually fairly open-minded when it comes to Disney marketing. No, I don't flinch at a Princess Aurora toothbrush - but this just sounds dumb.

When those classic songs were written, they were meant to inspire imagination and wonder - not be updated so they were dance-able.

Disney DDR has been around for awhile now, glad to see it's coming to Wii. I used to play it in the Tomorrowland Arcade or Innoventions East during my times at the Mouse House. One hasn't really heard "Zip A Dee Doo Dah" until they hear it in DDR whilst stomping along with hip-hop-ified Disney characters.

Disney + DDR on Wii = Woot
When those classic songs were written, they were meant to inspire imagination and wonder - not be updated so they were dance-able.
The songs were written for the movies and in the movies were meant to inspire imagination and wonder. There's nothing wrong with giving them a bit of an update so that people can play them on DDR, besides I think it's good that Disney is releasing a game that gets you up off the couch and moving around. It's much better imo than releasing yet another Princess game or Disney-Channel-Star-of-the-Second game

Besides there's no rule saying the songs can only be used to inspire imagination and wonder, I myself might end up prefering these new groove filled versions than the Peabo Bryson/Celine versions that are too slow (for my taste). I'm not saying there's anything wrong with those versions but I've always prefered something a bit fast I'm not much for slower music.

I look forward to getting this game when it comes out :)

This will be a fun rental sometime. I own one version of DDR already, and I do not feel the need to own multiple copies.

So do they remix the songs to be more dancey? or what?

And I actually can't stand DDR: Hottest Party (it's the only one I own, because at the time the Wii was all I had). I mean, if you LIKE moving your hands around with the Wii remote/nunchuck, good for you. I don't. And you can't disable it.

Not all of us play DDR to be an aerobic exercise  So I wish they'd stop treating it like one.

BUMP!

The first trailer was released today:

I hate to admit it, but it looks like a lot of fun. And I really like that version of "Its a small world". MUCH better than the Disney Beat version.

Actually, you can disable it.

But I am looking forward to this. I just might have to go and pick it up.

I love your siggy Coolmanio! It's so cool!

And now back to the topic...

DDR to "It's a Small World?" Really? I'm intrigued...just cause I can't imagine that song other than how it sounds in the attraction. Is "There a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" on it? Lol now that would be funny...or even better, if they ever revamp Carousel of Progress, they should have the grandma DDR-ing her granny fanny off!

EDIT: Just watched the trailer, haha i actually like it! Now I wanna get it. We'd have to get a wii first, though...
