Saw V on DVD?

Post by DisneyFreak5282 »

I plan on buying the DVD either later today or tomorrow. Couple questions, though:

1. Is it true that the Unrated Collector's Edition has been recalled? If so, why?
2. Where would be the best (cheapest) place to buy ANY edition (Theatrical, Unrated, or Unrated CE) of the DVD? Target, FYE, or Best Buy?
3. Do any of the above stores have any deals/sales going on for Saw I - IV on DVD?

I planned on buying the CE Unrated today, but I'm just not sure where to go or where to find it the cheapest. I have about $14 left on a gift card to FYE, so I may just wind up going there, but I was curious.

Oh, by the way - this is my 1,000th post here on UD!  :pink:

For quicker answers, you might want to try the IMDb. I hope you're registered there, just so you know- they're great for answers to questions that I've had, but if you try to get in now, they expect you to give them your credit card information and etc. - JUST to post on their damn message boards! It's sick.

Or you could type the question into Google or whatever that Ask Jeeves' site is today.

I personally think this entire series of films is barely above fecal matter in terms of quality. So, hopefully they recall all the DVDs and reclaim maybe just a little bit of movie fans' collective dignity.

Good luck with your quest for info!

Yes, I am registered there, and I just copy-pasted my post onto there. For the most part, I liked the films, and I thought they were clever. In some movies at parts, it was pretty slow (I own the Trilogy box set for I - III, and I is uncut, II is extended, and III is the director's cut, and I also have IV and that one is the unrated director's cut also), so maybe I just bought the wrong cut of the films (I don't really like slow-moving films). Maybe I'll just have to revisit the theatrical versions of the first 4 films sometime...

This may seem unrelated, but, when you say you may have bought the wrong cut (of any of these movies), I can't help but point out that both of Eli Roth's Hostel films were apparently released wrong. The first film was re-released in a 2-disc "Director's Cut," and on his MySpace page, he says Sony screwed up the entire transfer for Hostel: Part II. Which I have no interest in, but I find it interesting.

Lionsgate also screws up a lot. So, this now seems like a more relevant reply to me.
