What are some good podcasts?

Post by disneyfella »

I'm new to the whole podcasting thing, and after searching this site for podcasts all I could find was an awesome one done by Aaron Wallace. I was wondering if anyone has any other cool or very good podcasts they could recommend. My interests include the following:

Disney (of course) - more specifically Disney films; especially the live action films and anything Disney from the 1980s

3D movies - I know they are becoming popular again, so I'm hopeful that there is a cool podcast out there

Cult movies - Anything B movie, sci fi, horror, etc. I'm always looking to get more info on those types of movies and DVD releases

60s and 70s movies - I'm a huge fan of Cinema Retro magazine, so that is almost exactly the type of thing I'm looking for in a podcast too.

TV shows (i.e. Stargate, Burn Notice, Chuck, etc)

Pretty much anything else pop culture worthy. Thanks in advance for all the help :)

Star Wars Action News - Focuses on collecting but covers anything noteworthy involving Star Wars

The Hollywood Saloon - Two film buffs talk at length about certain films, directors, and topics. It's over now, but there's some good stuff in the catalog.

My favorite: Frangela.

It's basically a recording of their radio show. You might know them from Vh1's Best Week Ever. They're podcast is hilarious and it's about real news going on in the country but they're chemistry is just great.

The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack - about Lost tv show
The 10th Wonder Podcast - About Heroes tv show

Both are highly recommended. I don't even watch Heroes anymore but the podcasts are funny, insightful, and organized.

Are you only looking for audio podcasts, or also video podcasts?

There's a "Ratatouille Podcast" I got free on iTunes a while back, but the URL still works if you want it. They're all videos, however.

I also love the Ask A Ninja video podcast... it never fails to crack me up.

I personally like The Reduced Shakespeare Company podcast. They're a 3-man comedy troupe. They put out a podcast every monday. You can hear them at http://www.reducedshakespeare.com
