My 'specialty' and biggest interest in the Disney shorts is for the 2000 and beyond ones. They are more artistic and of a different value system than the old shorts.

There's one more short I didn't add: 'Pip's Predicament: A Pop-up Adventure'. Found only on the "Enchanted" DVD/Blu-ray.

There were a lot of new Mickey shorts made for "The House of Mouse" show that I didn't mention. I focus on the original character shorts (i.e. non Mickey and Gang).

Although I don't know enough to say what of the classic shorts isn't on the treasure sets, I can lead you towards a possible answer:

And just to see if you like the shorts, you can always try renting "Home on the Range" and "It's A Small World Of Fun". I was surprised to find that the latter was a part of my inter-library loan system. I ordered it and it should be arriving soon. So if I hate it, I saved myself the cash!

Well, I was just wondering about which shorts (or classic featurettes like the Nessie one on Pete's Dragon) were available on DVDs that I might not have yet. I think the only DVD I don't have that has House of Mouse shorts is the one with Around the World in 80 Days.

Anyway, have you ever seen the Disney Rarities set from the Treasures line? I think you might find a lot of classic shorts that are at least as artistic as those 2000 and beyond ones you are interested in.

Oh, yeah, I have Enchanted on standard DVD, so I saw that Pip one. I was pretty disappointed that in that one over all though. I don't remember, but I don't think I liked the story very much, but I think my main disappointment was that it wasn't actually animated. I don't know if I'd even call that one a true short. It's more like a DVD game you don't get to play.

Incidentally, I just thought of some others I want but probably won't get. I'm a huge TinkerBell fanatic, and I know they have some new Tink shorts (very short shorts) on that recent reissue of Return to Neverland, but I didn't buy it because I already had that movie on DVD. Now it's going back into the vault and I really don't want to buy it just for those brief shorts (if they put it on Blu-Ray I would have), so that really sucks. I wonder if they'll ever come out on DVD again with some other release, and preferably all of them next time.

Oh, those aren't shorts! Those are film clips from the original version of "Tinker Bell" before it was scrapped and begun again from scratch.

There's only three, each one is about a minute, and they aren't worth more than one look.

One was a clip where Rosetta tries to wake up the flowers but one won't open.

The second was Iridessa feeding the lighting bugs light - an extremely close scene appeared in the final version of "Tinker Bell".

The final clip is Tink herself getting her head caught in a bell and trying to get it off.

Again, these are old and just clips from the original version of the movie that got scrapped. Not shorts at all.

Admittedly, I haven't delved too deep into the shorts back-library. I'm sure I'll be eating my own words as I start to, because even though from the outward looking in the newer shorts seem the most artistically experimental - I'm sure the old shorts are equally if not more interesting.

My knowledge on the shorts is limited right now. I've been most interested in Disney's Animated Features, not shorts.

But I plan to begin looking into the shorts, as well.

Interesting you mention that about Pip - I began to write my description as "not really a short, but it's animated" but when I saw the Ultimate Disney review called it a short, I did, too.

Wow, thanks for posting that! I remember seeing it with Honey in theaters! however, I have read that it is not on the DVD. I don't have that movie on DVD though, just on VHS. Need to upgrade, as I'm a big Honey fan.

As for the Tink things, I knew they were extremely short, but I didn't know they were cut from the original version! Of course, the thing about me is I'm a huge Tink fan so I'd still love to have them, and I know there were more because they showed them on the Disney Channel and at the Disney Store. I thought they were promotional since they seemed more like their own thing rather than part of a bigger film. Perhaps they were tests? Anyway, I believe there's one with Tink and a salt shaker too, and maybe a couple others... Perhaps they'll be on a rerelease of the Tink movie...

Yes, you definitely need to check out the older shorts. Most would probably say the newer stuff doesn't hold a candle to the old stuff. Of course, for what you seem to be drawn to, the Disney Rarities shorts, probably the later ones in particular, would be the best place to start.

Hm, well those three were it on the "Return to Neverland" DVD, and I know for a fact they were from the original cut of the film.

I don't think the deleted scenes on the "Tinker Bell" DVD are like what you described, and there's no easter eggs with more on either DVD (that I know of).

No, I didn't mean they were on the TinkerBell DVD. I have that one on Blu-Ray and I know they're not on there. I meant maybe they could include them on a rerelease someday. Anyways, yeah, I know they didn't put them all on the Neverland DVD, but they did show them on the Disney Channel, and there were more than the ones on the Neverland DVD IF they were the same thing I'm thinking of (and I think they are).

A question for anyone who actually owns any of the 4 It's a small world DVDs.

The short from the package features. 'Pedro', 'The Flying Gauchito', 'Casey at the Bat'... etc

How are they presented?

As if literally lifted from the film or in their re-release forms with their own title cards and credits?
